In the ethereal realm of the void there existed The Delphic Iris, a being of otherworldly power and boundless knowledge. The Iris was said to possess the ability to see into the future and hear unique and strange sounds from times and dimensions beyond our grasp. 

Legend has it that with a specific alignment of space and time, and with the mastering of secret ritual practices, The Delphic Iris can be conjured by mortal musicians to ignite and inspire their souls.

History's stark warnings tells us that summoning The Delphic Iris is fraught with danger and risks the possible collapse of our universe, for the Iris is an unstable and powerful being. However, The Delphic Iris' visions are often too tempting to resist much like a Siren's song.  

In recent years, electronic musicians Drox and 16 Faces came across the existence of the Delphic Iris through secret texts found in "the Book of Tidder" and were able to command its power for short periods of time, and so “Delphic Iris Records” was born.

Fortune has been kind to Drox and 16 Faces so far, despite the obvious risks of summoning the entity. We do not know why this is exactly, as the ceremonies are still to this day shrouded in mystery. What we do know is that we too are lucky, because now we can hear a small glimpse of what The Delphic Iris sees.

  It is up for debate as to whether The Delphic Iris’s intentions are good or evil, so listen with caution and may these sounds consume you, for the future of music looks promising, at least for now ….

Since being introduced to Hardcore/Jungle by a family member back in 1993 I was hooked by the fast tempo, samples, basslines and Mc’s that would ride over a tune. Notable radio stations I would listen to were Kool, Don, Scandal, Pulse, Dream, Transmission 1, Eruption, Flex and Ruud. It’s great to see some of these still going or come back. 

Listening to the DJ's on these stations as well as Hype (for his scratching ability and selection) inspired me to try my hand at mixing and after going through several inferior decks I finally got hold of two 1210's that made all the difference to home in on the craft and I never looked back since. I still have them to this day and would consider them family. 

From 2004 I took a hiatus from D&B and sold off all my records but since 2015 there has been a resurgence of the scene that I have got totally addicted to again just like the first time so the vinyl collection has steadily built once more. 

With the improved capability of live streaming I began playing on www.onlyoldskoolradio.com and www.futuredrumz.com in 2018 which then led me to joining Jungletrain in 2019 then onto Dream FM and now most recently, Thames Delta Radio for a monthly show.  

I have made playlists of my shows from each of the stations mentioned above along with any studio mixes I have done to listen back on.

Tangenziale has been spinning vinyl since 1995, acquiring his first pair of SL1200 turntables from a local mobile DJ who was ‘upgrading’ to CD. :)

Playing Triple J’s Mix-Up in November 1997, Tangenziale created a 3 hour live mix including tracks by local Ballarat electronic artist Kriyashakti (Chris Pollard). Part of this set was again repeated on New Year’s Eve 1997 as part of a ‘best of’ show alongside Josh Wink’s Mix Up set from that year amongst others.

The set was recorded on an absolute minimum of gear: 1x tiny 2x channel Gemini mixer, 1x SL1200 and one awful 1200 clone, a Roland MC303, some sort of Yamaha synth, recorded to a hired DAT machine. I highly suspect it only got a replay because the DAT was probably still laying around the Mix Up studio haha.

Tangenziale, originally known as DJ 2600, also hosted a weekly electronic music radio show (The Genesis Project) on Ballarat’s 3BBB FM, started Kinesthesia Productions organising free bush doof parties, played at many Victorian doofs (incl. Imajica, Ganeshatribe) and Kryal Castle parties (Wild Things) along with occasional Melbourne club nights (Earthcore at Seven, Bass Station). He also played regular club nights at Ballarat’s Bridge Mall Inn, Grainery Lane, Ballarat Uni, random warehouses.

Favoured genres are jungle, liquid drum and bass, deep house, classic techno, vintage psychedelic trance, and electronic ambience/chill out.
