Prey / Pray was originally written and released as an album track by Schism in 1982 (on their debut cassette album). This new 21st century version has more of an edge to it and sonically has a definite darkwave feel to it, as well as an infectious grooved bassline, a solid dance beat, and quirky synth lines that culminate with the squeals of synth delight and the dark gothic voice of Simon Circus.

Lyrically Prey / Pray targets Religion as it shines the light on its power plays and potential abuse of power covering the predatory nature of some clergy juxtaposed against the hopeful support that prayer and faith can bring to a person whether in the face of a benevolent or vengeful God.
