Long-term friends and cohorts Ali Love and Luca C have succeeded with something quite extraordinary in their new production guise as Infinity Ink. Already amassing a legion of support and an escalating fan-base their unique cosmic take on garage has struck a chord with the dance-floor and beyond. ‘Infinity’ has been one of Crosstown Rebels most highly anticipated records of recent times. A smattering of DJ’s, from Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, Damian Lazarus, Lee Foss and Art Department have been championing its intoxicating qualities to nigh on sonic-hysteria over the past few months. Luca and Ali’s anthemic ‘Infinity’ is set to reach epidemic proportions this summer!

‘Infinity’ is an incredibly hooky slice of left of centre underground house, which encompasses elements of garage, through a hallucinatory resonance that cleverly maintains its notion of pop-sensibility. Ali’s evocative trademark vocal phrasing faultlessly compliments the monstrous disco bass line and intoxicating melody. A perfect unison that culminates in a piece of music that is pure hedonistic joy!

When remixing such a ground breaking piece of leftfield garage, who would be more suitable than Todd Edwards, and here he goes the extra mile to deliver arguably his best remix of recent years. The remix king of hypnotic staccato garage, Todd takes ‘Infinity’ to the next level and whisks you away to The Raleigh at WMC ‘96! On the flip, the guys jack the groove and deliver another killer in the guise of ‘House of Infinity’. A superb compliment to ‘Infinity’, this is for more peak-time play, as disco fills, jacking hi-hats and Ali’s hypnotic vocals mesmerize the listener into a spellbinding state of dance-floor bliss.

Ali Love’s prolific career has witnessed him produce two artist albums; several hit singles, and provided the vocals on hits by The Chemical Brothers, Justice, M Craft and Hot Natured. Luca C, formally of Luca C &amp; Brigante fame, has been producing music under various guises and in various band for years and has recently co-written and produced a track on Jamie Jones’s latest album. Besides working together as Infinity Ink, Luca and Ali are working on a project with Jamie and Hot Creations – more news to be announced soon. So now, with Infinity Ink as the combination of their extraordinary talents, the future is looking very bright indeed for Luca and Ali.

Kraftwerk - Das Modell (JCRZ Remodeled Bauhaus Vocal Remix)

Southern Fried Records latest signing, Maribou State, are the ambient electronic double act making all the right noises.  Preferring to remain pretty much ungoogleable, the two turntable based musicians create beautifully elegant constellations of progressive sounds and melodies. Head down to the next i-D mix night, June 14th to catch the lads in action.

The Look, Maribou State

On this third release from CODE, we bring up some of the finest names in liquid dnb for remix duties on several Science Fiction classics. Upon their initial release back in 2008 on the now defunct Inside Recordings, "Jah No Dead" and "I Ask You Why" caused quite a stir on the scene for their dub influenced vibes. Limited to only a few vinyl presses, word quickly spread within the scene and copies have long since disappeared. 

By comparison, Bungle's remix of "Spanish Sun" has long been something of a liquid anthem. Originally featured on the flipside of the infamous "Song For Lovers" 12" .. the track was quickly picked up by Drum n Bass Arena as part of their Summer Selection compliation. In more recent years since, Bungle aka Andre Sabota has been pushing his sound into both house and techno whilst still dropping drum n bass anthems like the recent Soul:r release "Astral Travel". 

CODE is now proud to release these three landmark liquid dnb tracks for the first time ever on digital download.

Written and produced by Clint Stewart and Marc Smith in the Outer Sunset, San Francisco, CA. Mixing and engineering by Tassilo Ippenberger. Published by mobilee publishing. 

After remixing Pan-Pot's "Gravity" earlier this year, San Francisco sound duo Clint Stewart and Marc Smith are back on the mobilee imprint together as Safeword on the 96th release. The 3-part EP is a soulful beat-ballad musically defining the three most present phases of the evolution of human love. 

The self-titled track, "My Love" solely dominates the A-side as it realizes the most intricate and dominating period of love within one's life span. Symbolizing the importance of this phase through passionate vocals and consistent beats, this is one hot and heavy number not to skip. 

On the B-side are two tracks representing the two phases preceding and following "My Love". "Double Dutch" takes shape as the second track commencing a more innocent and blissful love phase during the early years of the life span. Like much of one's childhood, the track progresses quickly with rapid beats and devotional lyrics. Appropriately ending the set is "Be The Light", a beautifully tragic piece with both powerful and euphoric elements navigating us through the later phase in the evolution of love. 

Safeword embodies the very essentials of key musical genres such as hip-hop, RnB, new wave and contemporary dance music. With a strong desire to produce unique numbers, Marc and Clint capture the soul behind these bits of music and mold them into one cohesive sound.
