J Fields Groovy is a nice song for the grown and sexy. His smooth Baritone melodies are well complemented by the production on this one. This is an awesome BBQ/ Summer/Family Reunion type of jam. The older crowd will enjoy this one as will the younger folks. He puts me in the mind of The Late Great Nate Dogg. I'd love to hear more from this artist and look forward to watching him attain mainstream success. Groovy is definitely a Hit song you guys should ride it til the wheels fall off.

The lead guitar in the intro got me . . . . this totally took me back to my family reunions in the park with the grills blazing, Styrofoam cups, and paper plates.  The background music was mixed perfectly to give that 1970-1980’s feel – reminiscent of George Benson, etc.  Those good ole days are relived with this cut.  Not too many effects on the lead vocals which is good since so many R&B songs on the Top 40’s today overdub the vocals.  Nice balance of background adlibs too.  Great that JFields used the classic song diagram of lead, PC, Chorus, Bridge, etc. b/c this was the classic way of writing the R&B hits back in the day.  This is Groovy – this would be perfect to be placed on a Summer Time collaboration disc.

ood song. Great quality sound. The lyrics were good. The music was very realaxing. Its great to hear music that has so many different instruments. Sounds similar to music from mid to late 90's. The singer had a good clear voice. I like when an artist can use a hook over and over in a song and it not be too much. Easy listening. The music and lyrics sound great together.




The track has great instrumentation throughout. I am especially impressed at how J has been able to reinterpret several classic 80’s soul and jazz tracks whilst retaining his own identity and avoiding sounding like a pastiche. J again shows his skill for creating great vocal - as well as instrumental - melodies. As per my previous review of a JFields track (‘Mastered by my Sin’), I think the track could use some more low-end and mid-range. J has ensured the track is not too ‘flabby’ or ‘muddy’ sounding, but this is arguably at the expense of the track being a little too light sounding. It would be interesting to look at this track in a spectrum analyzer (for example Voxengo’s free Span software) to see if or where it could have a little boost. In conclusion, this is a very catchy, feel-good track with replay value and the potential to become a summertime smash with a few small tweaks.

This track sounds like 90's R&B relaxed and loving. I like the message of celebration, family, and grooving. J Fields voice is unique and a nice contrast to this smooth jam.

I love how the song gives off a positive vibe and the song actually does make you want to dance and have fun. Your voice sounds amazing and I've haven't even finished listening to the song and I already love it. I even love how it has the song Big Poppa baseline by The Notorious B.I.G. 

This record presents an old school feel good sound. Perfect for family reunions, get togethers, weddings, and anything fun and family oriented.
