I'm really excited to finally upload my Shambhala Fractal Forest mixtape this year. It was by far the best year this year at Shambhala. I had so much fun and it was great to see old friends and meet new ones. Thanks to EVERYONE who made it to my set at 4am. I put my whole heart into this mix and it REALLY means a lot to me that you were all there to party with me!

Here is the set that I made for my annual performance at Shambhala Music Festival. As always I have poured my heart and soul into making the best set I could, and this year, like every year, it was an amazing time. Thanks to the few thousand people who came to hear it live, and Rich E Rich / Fractal Forest for having me back to play, 8 years counting.


I’d like to also say thanks to all the artists / labels who sent me upfront music, stems, acapellas and anything else I could get out of them… haha. Without you guys I wouldn’t be able to make the arrangements that I do. Almost everything in this set is my own edit for arrangement or what I needed the music to do, but on the track list I have listed the original tracks instead of putting “edit” beside everything...


I sincerely hope you enjoy the music. I’ll be working hard over the next few months writing new records, and getting ready for next years tours…

Stickybuds - Fractal Forest Mix - Shambhala 2012

When its time to rock a funky joint I’m on point, when it’s time to rock a funky jam I’m the man! 

JFX aka One Skinny DJ thats me, hip hop, garage, baseline, electro swing thats my thing! Originally from London now living in Lisbon.

My first musical inspirations were 90's hiphop and uk garage. I started DJing early 2000 but somewhere around 2005 I was becoming less an less inspired by the music that was coming out of the uk scene. The sound that had at the beginning inspired that start of my DJ journey seemed to be passing.

Then thanks to one cool NZ DJ by the name of Davy D I was introduced to the uk breakbeat sound!!! From the like of Plump DJ and Stanton Warriors to the harder side like CTRL-Z. I was again inspired!

By late 2000's I was heavily involved in the UK nuskool breaks scene, during which time, along side DJ Disowned we co-founded one of Londons infamous underground breaks nights Graffiti Breaks. 

It was a good run however. as vinyl died out giving way to digital so did the original sound of nuskool breaks that first grabbed my attention. I was again struggling to find new tracks that got me excited.

Then some time around 2010, by chance I discovered the nu-funk, ghetto funk, mid tempo sound!!!! YES I thought!!!! Fusing my two major musical influences of hip-hop and breaks, I was instantly hooked on the sound! Since then I've been scouring every corner of the world in search of this nu-funk sound!!!
