Moqawama (مقاومة), "resistance."

Amidst the ongoing genocide against the people of Gaza - having now surpassed the 100-day mark, and with deep mourning for the loss of over 30,000 Palestinians, over 10,000 of those being children - I felt a profound need to contribute in some way. This drive led me to start this fundraising project and, with the invaluable help of everyone involved, we've crafted this Various Artists compilation as a creative expression of solidarity and support for Palestine.

We reached out to friends and fellow artists from five different parts of the world (Egypt, Poland, Greece, China, Saudi Arabia), seeking their support in contributing their unique sounds to this project. MOQAWAMA V.A. has evolved into a kaleidoscope of electronic subgenres, spanning from Shaabi to experimental techno, sound design and drill.

~PROCEEDS~
The vast majority of humanitarian aid is unfortunately not reaching Gaza. The only scenario in which donations can be helpful and have an impact is through e-SIM purchases, for which there is currently a huge demand, due to the very frequent telecommunications blackouts imposed by "Israel".
Purchasing e-SIMs is literally life saving, as it allows people within Gaza to connect to the outside, to communicate with their families and also to show what's happening within Gaza.

We'll be using all proceeds from this release to purchase as many e-SIMs as possible and send them to gazaesims@gmail.com. This effort is run by Mirna El Helbawi, an Egyptian writer and journalist. You can find more information on gazaesims.com or follow @ Mirna_elhelbawi on X/Twitter.
