When I’m Human’ is the brainchild of Dehradun based Guitarist and Producer Yash Nath Jha. The vibe journeys through cinematic settings, glitches and contrasting industrial backdrops, of a world that seems forgotten - cradled in his mind with intriguing rhythms, textured elements and heavy bass.

"Hide was something that came to me when I needed to resonate with a feeling I really couldn’t make sense of. Sometimes you need to hear the words from someone else. The lush scapes and the pristine production of the original, along with Anushka’s beautiful vocals and lyrics, truly emote the feeling I had in that moment.


At the time, I wanted to do something new with my sound and also own up to the person I am today. We don’t realize but we can be hiding from ourselves too. The lyrics drove the arrangement to its potential. Blessed to have been asked to give my perspective in sound and be a part of this album by Anushka and Bønehead. Always so beautiful to perform an alchemy of the thoughts and essence of individuals through sound. Bringing up a new style was super liberating and I’m so happy to share this space with other brilliant producers I love and admire.”

I played violin on it too and mastered the song on a tape recorder to really get that lofi retro vibe!
