Farmers endured the brunt of severe floods on their own, rising to the challenge by mending broken river banks and dams in Punjab & Haryana. This highlights the stark reality of our administrative system. The relief fund they eventually received was nothing short of shameful—a mere pittance. Vast area of land remain buried under layers of sand due to the relentless flooding. Once again, the farmers' resilience and perseverance will be put to the test as they endeavor to reclaim this land for agriculture.
What is the ask? 
Hakk Di Tukkar, Te Dhart Di Nukkar
Fair compensation and retaining their piece of land, that's it. Thats the Struggle!

Jhinda Music hails from the infamous London town! Raised in Southall he grew up fortunately being surrounded by punjabi culture, language and music. His first ever memories of punjabi music included the tapes of legendary artists like The Safari Boyz, The Sahotas, Malkit Singh, Jazzy B and Surjit Bindrakhia whilst in his Mums car on the way from school.

His own musical journey started off as many do in music class’s in the local Sikh gurdwara encouraged by his parents who both did Kirtan. However his eyes and ears only truly opened up to music when he began learning north indian classical music from Raj academy. He started with the Rabaab and Sarangi and moved on to other instruments like Dilruba/Tarshahnai, Tabla/Jori as well as music theory. He took this interest further and began tutelage under Namdhari Ustads such as Surjit Singh ji and Sarod player Gurdev Singh ji. 

When he got to university his interest in bhangra and folk music really developed. Armed with his knowledge of classical music from a young age he was able to pick up punjabi folk music up quite easily and apply it to "lohk saaj” such as the Tumbi, Algozeh, Bansuri, Sarangi. He was introduced to his Ustad ji and older brother Gurvi Kambo Dholi who pushed him further into folk music its various styles and even music production. Jhinda developed a name for himself on the UK live bhangra scene as a musician for the award winning bhangra team Vasda Punjab. Having spent years performing at various competitions and exhibitions traditional folk bhangra is a huge influence on him.

The 2 words he would use to describe his sound are Folk and Electric. His musical influences range from Punjabi folk/Indian classical/qawwali right through the spectrum to Electronic music, live digital performers and controller-ism. His first ever piece of production equipment was an Akai MPC 1000 having been inspired by sampling videos off youtube. The vast collection of equipment soon followed, Jhinda is a self confessed gear junkie loving all types of analogue and digital pro audio equipment!

Becoming a music producer has been a natural progression, from bedroom musician, to playing for bands and artists, to recording in studios to now having his own studio and making his first album. He endeavours to make fresh bhangra music for all and promote true punjabi values. His first EP named "Aad the beginning” features 5 tracks recorded in 2014 whilst on a backpacking trip around India.

He has gained some social media recognition for his numerous instagram and vine videos. He showcases different instruments in various styles from acoustic folk to electro fusion. He hopes that on the back of his first EP he gains some recognition for his work and looks forward to working with different artists and including some of his heroes.
