The latest release on Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes Jickow to the label for his debut EP. As a highly regarded DJ, Jickow began his journey in the South of France before going on to delight crowds at Kater Holzig (Berlin), Rachdingue (Catalonia) and Jesus Club (Saint Petersburg). Eventually settling in Belgium, Jickow became a primary figure in the country's nightlife, sharing the booth with international talents such as Oxia, Lee Van Dowski, Pleasurekraft, Olivier Huntemann, Anthony Rother and Marc Houle. As a producer, JIckow takes the quality of quantity approach, taking time to perfect his craft and choosing his projects wisely, with Beatfreak, Frequenza and Pursuit being landing spots for his fresh take on melodic house and techno. Now following a project for Deep House Belgium, Jickow steps up to Movement Recordings for his debut EP 'Run and Jump' alongside a remix from Gelassenheit.

Beginning with 'Jumping in the Sand' Jickow delivers one of his best productions to date. Led by a punchy groove, pulsating rhythms and astral stabs, its ethereal nature proves to be quite compelling. Dark and mysterious across the first act, it's flair for the dramatic grows, with an emotive break that elevates mood and tension, before getting washed away in a rush of beats and percussion for a heady finale.

Also making their label debut and providing the lone interpretation of 'Jumping in the Sand' is Gelassenheit. Based in Australia and making up the Gelassenheit duo are Max and Netanel. Founders of the nightlife brand Dopamine Collective, the Aussie duo are not only regulars on the country's club circuit but also lay claim to a short but meticulous discography, highlighted by releases on Interfonic, Love Matters and Soleid. Now making their Movement Recordings debut, Gelassenheit provides an inspired take on 'Jumping in the Sand'. Electrically charged with punchy beats and a looser take on the groove, it's energetic prowess beams brightly from the outset. Combining dynamic rhythms with crisp percussion and emotive chord changes makes for a sleek yet poignant first act. Playful arps and timely modulation heighten the senses leading into the main break. Grandiose and dramatic in equal measure, haunting vocal pads and warm bass swells highlight the centrepiece, paving the way for a broken beat section and smooth energy bridge into a moving finale.

Rounding out the release are 'Running Egg' and 'Sweet Sadness' which find Jickow exploring more astral techno narratives. The former delights with its minimalistic design, rippling groove and cosmic artefacts. Sitting as an ideal complement to its predecessor, a heady first act preludes a dramatic break, where buzzing lines and gaseous effects take centerstage, before a rush of noise ushers in a charged finale. Meanwhile, 'Sweet Sadness' comes in more muscular and robust with an undulating groove, striking arps and a mystical vocal narrative which highlights a cavernous break. It rounds out a superb Movement Recordings debut for Jickow, who is most certainly operating at a creative peak here.

We present you Jickow: a lover of melodies, sound and rhythm, but above all a lover of the emotions that music provides. It all begins in the south of France, between Montpellier and Marseille, where Jickow is moving the electro scene. As a DJ, art director, manager of a booking agency and talent scout he's in the core of the nightlife. After making a name for himself in the south of France, Jickow exported his path, went abroad and mixed in some of the best clubs in Europe. But it is finally in Belgium that Jickow fully blossomed as a staple of Brussels nightlife.

Jickow presents us 2 originals. The title track "Dry Haze" is a a super catchy melodic masterpiece. The second track "Mono No Aware" is much deeper, floating on an intriguing vocal. The title track "Dry Haze" is remixed by France based producer Atribút who released already on labels such as Selador, Beatfreak, OKO, Univack, Siona, Area Verde,... Atribút gives a progressive house touch to the original. And last but not least the second track is remixed by FiveP, an Italian artist who won the "20 Years of Poker Flat" Remix Contest in 2020 with a remix of Hannes Bieger. Since then his music is signed on labels such as 3000 Grad, BeatFreak, Freegrant, Awen, Dear Deer, Natura Viva,... FiveP adds some extra power to "Mono No Aware".

Tash's Movement Recordings caps off the month of November by unveiling the second instalment of their 'ProgNoesis' series. Landing in December of 2020, the inaugural edition of 'ProgNoesis' featured an amalgamation of progressive house and melodic techno, with a cohesive blend of both new and established artists delivering genre-defying tracks. The success of the first edition has more than whet the appetite for edition number two which appropriately arrives almost exactly a year later. Featured on the collection (in order of appearance) are: I.R.A.L.I., Goda Brother, MAAND, Gonzalo Sacc and Franco Leonardini, Nas Horizon and George Harbas, Der Effket, Hari and Yellow Space and Jickow.

The release concludes with label artist Jickow returning following his well-received 'Run and Jump' EP from July of this year. Beatfreak and Freegrant Music have also played host to the French born, Belgian based producer. Having contributed a selection to 'Celestial', a maxi-ep release by Movement affiliate Astral Records, Jickow now returns to the main Movement stage and rounds out the second installment of 'ProgNoesis' with the much-requested instrumental version of 'Sweet Sadness', a track which initially appeared on the 'Run and Jump' EP. Jickow's recent run of form continues with a dark and driving new EP on BluFin Records.
This stylish two tracker kicks off with Gökotta, a deep rolling techno cut that comes live with some epic synth work. The bright chords flash over the rooted drums then fall away to reveal a spine tingling female vocal. It's a dramatic cut that will make for plenty of memorable moments. Ubuntu then sets off on another spritely groove with theatrical pads and thunderous claps. It's one to get hands in the air with its subtle trance vibes.

These are two more well designed and fresh cuts from Jickow.
