The once-familiar streets of Danzig (now Gdańsk) become a haunting labyrinth of desperation and uncertainty as Inge and her family navigate the treacherous path to the harbor. The music reflects the growing tension, the ever-present threat, and the agonizing choices forced upon those seeking refuge. You will sense in the music the desperation of many refugees, but also their determination to survive.

The journey culminates in the boarding of the "Lappland," a vessel overflowing with refugees, all carrying their own stories of loss and hope. As the ship embarks across the vast and unforgiving Baltic Sea, the music evokes the vastness of the ocean, the precariousness of their situation, and the uncertain future that awaits them.
