King Ramsey (Sound of the future) is a Brooklyn New York based sound system that was formed in 1992 by Irwin "Jr Ramsey" Cadogan, Sharif "Reefie Ramsey" Reid and Karim "Uncle Lion" Reid. Originating out of a basement in East New York section of Brooklyn, 3 friends with a common goal to set out and build a sound system. Also to contribute and compete in the dancehall arena. During the 1990's King Ramsey began playing in various venues creating a name for themselves amongst many of Brooklyn's notorious sound systems. While building their sound system they have stockpiled a wide selection of exclusive dub plates from numerous iconic artiste ranging from foundation to current dancehall greats. Artist such as Dennis Brown, Gregory Issacs, Frankie Paul, John Holt, Nicodemus, Beres Hammond, Sanchez, Bounty Killer, Ninjaman, Mavado, Popcaan, Aidonia, and many more. From the 1990's to current time many sounds were unable to sustain the test of time...especially with sound system reinforcement. Throughout the years King Ramsey has provided sound system reinforcement in night clubs, open venues for artist ranging from Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, French Montana, Sean Paul as well as local acts in the community. With a constant hunger and desire for growth they always looked for he next challenge, with that in mind King Ramsey changed gear and ventured into the (Battlefield) the sound clash arena. Starting off clashing with vinyl 45 records and winning in a few states New York, Florida, etc... they then decided to turn it up a notch an go full fledged into the clashing industry. In 2015 King Ramsey entered a tournament called "I Octane Cup" they went on to win the first round and was placed in the finals where they claimed victory against sounds like (Redi Roc, Orijahnal Vibes, Generationz, and Warrior Choice). Another victory was also claimed in the 2017 Global Clash against some of the businesses elite sounds (Stereo 5, Tek 9, Steppa Choice, and One A Day). Demonstrarting their skills of selections and entertaining the crowd like no other. Now that King Ramsey has entered the clash industry the only question is who will be next on the sound killing list? Selectors include Fyah Priest, Warrior, Dj Lyte, Bruce Won, Soulja, & Jiggah.
