Despite the complex musical structure, there is enough space for the voice and words to take on meaning. Very high art, which can be heard here.

Consciousness - is the mechanism in which the universe observes and experiences itself. Such contemplations and questions raised in this track are therefore descriptive of the identity crisis of the universe itself. Very appealing vibes in this track and yes very recognizable reflective lyrics, great delivery.

Love the voice. Different approach using poetry. Why do I hear Sting singing this in my head?

Anyone or any group of people that do so are only laughing at themselves.  And the harder they laugh, the joke for themselves become bigger. Great playing as usual.

someday I will write a short fable about 
this Serpent. who, while climbing a tree spied a nest
And that nest was watch over by a bird
That bird raised a ruckus in an attempt to scare the serpent
So loud that a nearby sleeping bear woke to see the ruckus
the bear didn't care much for snakes or birds 
but in a rash and angry attempt he swatted at the bird
striking the lowest limb, knocking it down, serpent bird and beehive all landing on the bears head  
 the serpent still gets the egg

Childhood in 7/8 time: Istanbul Before Twelve smells of simit and the sea; it sounds like ferry horns, spoon percussion, and merchants’ cries. Makam melodies meet nu-jazz soul—warm, handcrafted, alive.



This is my first map of Istanbul—from the courtyard to the ferry, from the tea garden to the Grand Bazaar. You’ll hear makam colors, microtones, and aksak grooves in 7/8 and 9/8; saz, oud, kanun, ney, kaval, zurna, darbuka, and davul telling how the city sounded to me before I turned twelve.
Each track is a scene: our block, the neighbor, Teacher Veli (stern and kind), friendship and hospitality, the green valleys, the Bosphorus, the nights, the tea garden, and the journey forward. Between seagulls and ferry horns, nu-jazz and soul blend with a hint of djent—honest, warm, handcrafted.
