This is the recording of my DJ set at Berghain on sunday morning 6th of February 2011, between 8 and 12am. Deep respect to Stroboscopic Artefacts for having me as part of the line-up, the Berghain crew for being the perfect hosts and last but not least that massive pack of dancing nutters on the floor (especially the Belgian delegation present for the occasion). Function Boiler Room Berlin Live Set

Midnight Traffic is the alias of DJ/Producer Rishi, based in Hyderabad, India.  His sound is a fusion of darkness and light, modern sound design and hypnotic rhythms.

With almost a decade of honing his craft in the studio, Midnight Traffic’s catalog comprises several notable EPs on India-based Qilla Records, an EP on Italian label The God’s Planet, a collaborative EP with Qilla Records founder, Kohra on Berlin-based Charybdis Records, along with several independent releases on Bandcamp.

As a DJ, Midnight Traffic’s sets tend to lean towards the more fast-paced, hypnotic end of the spectrum. The last few years have seen him grace renowned venues and festivals like Echoes of Earth & DGTL in India, Lapita festival in Japan, and a remarkable Boiler Room Debut in 2022, to name a few.

Traumprinz - Live At Planet Uterus

VRIL is one of the most reliable artists in techno. He emerged with a style that was his own and has pretty much stuck to it ever since. Eight years after his debut, that loopy, dubby take on the genre sounds as vital as ever, and most often comes on labels like Delsin, Dystopian and Giegling. A live set from the German is just as floor facing and effective. It will veer from deeper moments of intensity to trippy, off kilter drum patterns that are designed to keep you moving. 

Here he serves up a perfectly mix that syncs perfectly with the changing season: it’s all warm and cuddly from the off, with cosy dub techno cocooning you in an inviting sound world that slowly transitions into more twisted and straight up techno. Whether the drums are thumping or laying more horizontal, there is an absorbing intensity to VRIL's work that proves he is someone who has a real mastery of his art.

I was extremely honored to be featured on the legendary Essential Mix show this summer...  When I was in college, my teacher used to play us Essential Mixes in class, and on the 20th anniversary of the show,  Pete Tong was hosting James Zabiela and Sasha at the Warehouse Project in Manchester. I was the first one in the queue and the last one to leave the club! I will never forget that night. This year I had the honor of meeting Pete Tong at IMS Ibiza, and I think you can imagine how overwhelming it was to be invited to record a set for the show.  Here is my Essential Mix. ここ近年、世界でミニマルハウスシーンを語る上ではルーマニアという街は決して欠かせないシーンになっていることは、ここ日本のアーティストの誰もが感じていることだろう。
毎週日本のレコードショップでも、そのルーマニアのアーティストやレーベルが必ずというほど入荷され、必ずというほどその週には売り切れ状態になる。その火付け役となったレーベルが Raresh、Petre Inspirescu、Rhadoo の3名からなる [a:rpia:r] だ。彼らがワールドワイドに台頭していく中、驚くほど若き才能が彼らに継いで生まれていった。
中でも Praslea というアーティストが取り上げられるだろう。彼はすでにルーマニアシーンでは欠かすことのできない存在であり、地元ブカレストでも幾度も Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Ritchie Hawtin, Zip といったビッグネームと共演を果たしていった。そして、Gig を重ねていく間、盟友 Cezar と 「Afumati」 というプロジェクトをスタートさせ [a:rpia:r] からスプリット EP をリリース。また、彼自身と Kozo、Cezar でスタートさせたレーベル 「UNDERSTAND」 から1st EP として Raresh とのプロジェクト、Praslesh で"Out Of Time"をリリース。たったこの2枚のリリースでルーマニアだけではなく、今ではヨーロッパ各国からのオファーが絶えない存在に成長した。
