The latest edition of our free download series welcomes Emi Galvan for his first appearance. Argentinean DJ and producer Emi Galvin has consistently defied expectations throughout his much-lauded decade-long career. Through the success of early tracks like 2016's ‘Taking Over’ and ‘Universe’, the Buenos Aires resident emerged into one of the progressive scene’s most promising talents. A rich musical background with time spent in rock bands playing guitar and singing gave Emi’s electronic compositions a measurable creative edge. This elusive sound did not go unnoticed as he quickly earned the praise of genre tastemakers Cid Inc, Eelke Kleijn, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren; while landing career defining releases via Balance, Sudbeat and The Soundgarden. Also an accomplished DJ, Emi’s long undulating sets have been applauded for their impeccable track selection and exquisite programming. As one of Argentina’s most in demand DJs, Emi has travelled the world, delighting crowds in Egypt, Greece, Hungary, Malta, Netherlands, Romania, Russia, Spain and more. A recent highlight in the Argentine’s sets has been his unofficial remix of Massive Attack’s ‘Girl I Love You.’ Released in 2010 as part of the band’s ‘Heligoland’ album, the song would go on to become one of the LP’s most recognizable tracks, racking up more than ten million plays on Spotify in the process. Emi’s version has seen considerable live play in recent months, with Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Sebastien Leger and more all airing the remix across their sets. Cie & Mar io's latest work, "Mindmodulator", plays with the senses and opens doors to new, unexplored dimensions of the mind. The original mix starts furiously right away and brings the synapses to a boil with its intense and hypnotic break, only to burn itself explosively into the head. In the fiery remix of Zweig, the pads dance on groovy 303 basslines and enchant the deep parts of the brain. The suspenseful "Hot Mix", on the other hand, flows deeper and deeper into unimagined areas, heats the temperature inexorably, so that you can no longer escape its powerful pull and the modulations illuminate even the most hidden convolutions of the brain. This high energy level is also reached in a very short time by the "live version", which was recorded uncut as part of a performance on the radio station sonus fm, and immediately makes the neurons dance on all levels. In short, four electrifying variants of "Mindmodulator" that can change reality!

This is a challenging time for everyone but I want to try to focus on the positives. Regardless of race, gender or age we are all being impacted by this Pandemic. Perhaps it can be a time where we break down some barriers and work together on a higher level to overcome this hardship. 

I think it is our job as musicians to keep making music and attempt to provide hope and positivity. One song can completely change a person’s outlook on life and we need that more than ever now. 

I will be doing lots of streaming over the next few weeks, both of studio sessions and of djing but today I will be giving away two of the remixes I did over this past year as free downloads.
