Weakness Of The Body

My grandma is one of my people. My symbol of comfort and security, of home and everything good. To face that she isn't here on Earth with me anymore is the most crushing heartbreak I have ever felt. I remind myself that I am actually lucky to feel this. Because on top of all the lessons on knitting, cooking, grafting trees, and taking care of my babies, she taught me the most important lesson through her example: unconditional love. “Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.” I'm sure there's a brand new garden blooming in Heaven now. :'-) I made this song for her and for my own healing. A combination of her favorite song and another she always sang to me.

"Let Me Be Your Angel" Jill Tirrell

By now you are probably familiar with "Be With You Tonight," Jill Tirrell's breakout track produced by Todd Terry and remixed by Albert Cabrera on on Terry's Freestyle Forever Volume One. You may even have heard Jill's  duet that's quickly becoming popular, "Run Away" or her newest single with Todd Terry, "Real Love."

Did you know that Jill Tirrell's songs have had freestyle influences since the beginning of her musical career?

In 2003, Jill was working at her very first job at Atlantic Records and was given an opportunity to cut a dance track.  The first song officially released was called "Let Me Be Your Angel" which came out in July of that year. She sang it under the alias, "Krista."  It rose to #24 on the Billboard charts.

Tirrell states, "I was excited about it, but I decided not to pursue it or make any big deal of it because I had just landed my first job at a major label and I didn't think it was professional to promote myself as as a singer since I had been hired in a more corporate capacity."

Now, things have come full circle.

Not only does Jill Tirrell continue to establish herself as a valuable commodity in this industry, she has the strength of her past productions to prove she's earned her place.
