Daniel Kramer established the BlackOut Band, a legendary music group from the Marshall Islands, in the early 2000s. BlackOut rapidly became a trendsetter, revered as a sign of musical talent and cultural pride. As the region's only totally instrumental band, they contributed a distinct energy to the local music scene, flawlessly combining current rhythms with traditional island elements. Their performances were lively expressions of community, bringing audiences together with passionate tunes and soulful lyrics. One of the most treasured recollections of their career is their final spectacular performance at the Summer Jam Festival in Delap Park in 2016. Their unusual sound struck a chord with the audience, cementing their legacy as pioneers of Marshallese music.
