Pure Lips

“Gather together and listen, sons of Jacob!
Listen to this Israel, your father.
Judah, your brothers will praise you;
your hand will crush the necks of your enemies;
your father’s sons will bow down before you.
Judah is a lion’s whelp;
you have come up with prey, my son!
He lies down like a lion,
like the king of beasts; who dares to awaken him?

Now Jacob was the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary,

The Lord must enter through the gates,
for He is the King of glory.
The earth belongs to God and all that is in it,
the world and all who dwell there.
For He founded it upon the waters,
and established it upon the seas.

The King of Glory

All this took place to fulfill
what the Lord had spoken through the prophet, who said:
“Behold, the virgin shall conceive
and bear a Son,
and they shall call His name Immanuel.”
Which means:
God with us.
Awakening from sleep,
Joseph did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him
and took his wife into his home.

The Lord makes my heart beat with joy,
my God has lifted up my head.
Now I can speak before my rivals,
because I enjoy His support.
He raises the powerless from the dust,
lifts the lowly from the dirt;
He grants him a seat among princes,
gives him a place of honor.
For He is the Lord of the pillars of the earth,
on which He once set the world.

“My heart exalts the Lord.
My spirit rejoices with joy in God, my savior,
for He has looked with favor upon the lowliness of His servant.
And behold, from this day forward all generations will call me blessed,
because He who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is His Name.

for those who fear Him.”

to prepare the way before Me.
And suddenly the Lord whom you seek
will enter His holy temple,
the Lord you long for, the messenger of the covenant.
Behold, He is coming, says the Lord of hosts.
But who can endure the day of His coming?
Who can stand when He appears?”

Show me Your ways, Lord,
teach me to know Your paths.
Guide me according to Your word,
for You are my God and Redeemer.
The Lord is good and upright;
therefore He shows sinners the way.
He leads the lowly along honorable paths;
He teaches the simple what they must do.
Stand up and lift your heads,
for your redemption is drawing near.

for ever my covenant with him remains in force.

And you, child,
will be called a prophet of the Most High,
for you will go before the Lord
and prepare his ways,
and you will make his people know salvation:
the forgiveness of their sins,
thanks to the tender mercy of our God,
by which he looked down upon us

Child Of The Most High

Because a child has been born to us,
a Son has been given to us;
authority is laid upon His shoulders,
and He is called:
Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God,
Everlasting Father,
Prince of Peace.
Great authority and boundless prosperity
will come to David’s throne
and to his kingdom,
so that it will be established
and firmly founded on justice and righteousness
from now and forever.

Christ the Lord.
