This is the the "Scherzo" portion of Bernard Herrmann's 1935 concert work, NOCTURNE AND SCHERZO. This recording dates from 1939 and is a radio broadcast by the CBS Symphony conducted by Howard Barlow. 

Herrmann re-purposed this music in 1963 for the skeleton fight sequence in the film, JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS. He removed the quiet second section, and just recorded the first and third sections. The music editor then fit the music to the final cut of the sequence by cutting out a couple bars here and repeating a few bars elsewhere, resulting in a few jarring edits. If you listen to the Intrada CD re-recording of JASON conducted by Bruce Broughton, you will hear a great performance of the unedited first and third parts of "Scherzo."
