Quick go at the middle section of "Before and After" from Rush's first album. Often overlooked but a great track.

Rush Before and After Muckabout

Been mucking about with this orginal track on and off for a few months now. Starting to use Soundcloud (and the encouragement people have given me for my silly test clips) has given me the impetus to finally get it finished (or at least to a rough mix state) and uploaded.
Guitar is all my trusty Les Paul, all bridge pickup except for the clean soloing at the end. All effects, amps etc. are the LP straight into the Eleven Rack into Ableton live. 
The rhythmic noise that starts the track off (and is scattered through it) is me tapping on the bridge with a pick.

By the way the title "Bonneville"  was inspired by a documentary about the land speed record attempts on the salt flats at lake Bonneville in the 1960's. It has nothing to do with motorbikes (or chocolate!)   ;)

Bonneville [Jimification]

A cover version of the immaculate Whitesnake track of the same name that was everywhere in 1987 and exemplified so much of the rock music from that period...Rock, Glamour, Hair, more hair, cheese and more cheese! - That's what it's all about!

Still of the Night

Quite pleased with how this one is coming along and thought I'd upload a little taster...

It's still early days with this one but it's coming together slowly. Should end up being something more along the lines of "Bonneville".

Little snippet of the tune I'm currently working on..

Mucking about on the Eleven Rack trying to cop the lovely snarl of a "Royal" amp. (http://www.royalamps.com/music-player/demo/audio.html) Just a quick test to see how it would sit in a track when double tracked.

Heartbreaker Test

Mucking around trying to get a solo tone similar to Steve Stevens' "Small Arms Fire" solo. Like Eruption, it's something I come back to from time to time to try to improve my playing as it's such a great solo to learn from.

I've played over the track and panned my take - Stevens is on the left (obviously!) and monkey boy here is on the right..
