For nearly four years Amy would play this as “Jimi's song” and every time my heart would melt. One night while i was back in California on business, my friend Sarah held her phone up to Amy as she played it live in a club in Bisbee just so i could get me my “Amy fix.” - i was so blessed and grateful to have such a beautiful and talented angel sing it to me every Wednesday night - i never took any of her performances for granite; always knowing she was not long for this world, but damn it’s hard knowing she’s gone.  i miss her so much.

Comedian Mike O’Connell’s male braggadocios anthem is the song that got her in so much trouble by bar owners and so many converts from first time fans - the way she handles the versus with such authority and style - in another version of this song, she remarks afterwards that it always makes her laugh inside when she sings the verse. “Got to get my dick in your britches.”

One off my “automatic” requests was her wonderful mashup of  "Two Weeks" by Grizzly Bear and "Head Over Heels" by Tears for Fears. It came at the beginning of the night and gave Amy a chance to warmup, as well as showed people new to Amy Wednesdays how the game was played.

One of my favorite covers by Amy - as many classic and standard songs that she could instantly recall from memory, she knew just as many amazing songs written by small indie bands and obscure singers - that was her genius
