As a warm-up to this year's Shambala Festival, here's a special DJ mix from the archives of legendary Birmingham institution, Jibbering Records.

Compiled & mixed by Mr Switch, who was given special access to the remaining back catalogue of the now-defunct Moseley record shop, and presents here the finest selection of funk, latin, reggae & world music (with a few surprises thrown in for good measure!)

Mixed using 100% original vinyl, every sound drawn solely from the Jibbering vaults, this podcast is a prelude to Mr Switch's live Jibbering Records showcase at Shambala - which you can catch live on Sunday at the World Music stage from 8-9 pm, or as a podcast which will be uploaded post-Shambala.

Beatherder is definately one of my favourite places in the world. As anyone who has witnessed it will testify, its a place with no pretentions and just an 'effing good festival. For those that don't know its based in the north of the UK and is put together so lovingly by the organisers that it is up there with other festivals I've had the privelage to play, such as Fusion in Germany or Shambhala in Canada. 

This was my 7th year and the festival's 10th anniversary. Without fail each year tops the last and we (Bombstrikes & Sugarbeat) have been honored to host our own stage for most of the years I've been there. Finding our home in 'The Ring' for the last 2 years. 

This year I decided to record my set and share it with you all. Crossing all genres, the show is a chance for me to push some fresh bass, dig out some old party classics and have some FUN!! As music is supposed to be fun, right? This is from the Bombstrikes presents night on the Friday night. Play it loud and Enjoy!

Jimi Needles - Needlewurk Vol.2 (Mixtape)

After my performance on Rob Da Bank's Electro Swing showcase in 2010, I was pleasantly surprised to be asked back for his Christmas special at the end of the year.

In a similar fashion to that show, the mix goes across multiple genres, features tracks with links of varying tenacity to the festive season & seriously strange live turntablist scratch mash-ups. See which tunes you recognise - there's a lot of classics in there (in particular, try & guess what I use for my opening routine before the tune drops)!

Jimi Needles' musical roots are in hip hop, soul, funk, and disco, but on the turntables he combines pin-point scratching, intricate cuts, breaks, and bass music to craft a unique and high-energy sound that spans genres and keeps the crowd moving!
