Effortless and disarming, lush yet brutal, “Oscillate and Shimmer,” the newest release by DJ, artist, producer and label owner Klahrk, is the fruit of isolated collaborations and longing for mutually-assured destruction. The eight tracks, written across 2020 and 2021, mix vital computer pop builds with ruptured, explosive breaks ringing of UK bass. This is the soundtrack to rebuild the world of the club and tear it down again.

Under SFX, Klahrk has built an album that hits fiercely while flirting with digital distortion to create dark tensions begging for release on the dance floor. Rooted in the industrial electronic scenes from the past, this album is written for the clubs of the future, where we can never guess what happens next.

You can also listen to Klahrk's last show on Radio Ma3azef where he runs through tracks that inspired his upcoming release, as well as sharing his current selections for a glimpse into the future.

We are delighted to extend the GUN-X series with a second edition in partnership with HIDE Productions !

GUN-X is a series of releases that enlarge the processes of collaboration beyond the borders of the Global URL Nation. For each project in the series, members of the GUN community collaborate with members from another collective or label - exploring the results of cross-pollination and pooling across the global ecosystem of electronic music.

After an abrasive edition with Heel.zone in 2020, we’re happy to partner this time with the incredible multi-disciplinary collective HIDE Productions from Italy ! HIDE aims to connect artists by sharing resources such as sample packs, devices, types or 3D assets, in addition to delivering sharp and sizzling releases and audiovisual projects. Their dedication to provide high quality projects and resources over the years made it one of the most obvious choices to develop the series.

For the project, HIDE members SY/N, T.U. / Capiuz, Coeden & Leden cooked a pack of samples and M4L devices that were proposed to GUN members to make a track. 

AFGA06L, B E N N x Griigg, Cralias, Fungal Mat, jjjacob x P IT, Lukann, Nagruv, Sha Sha Kimbo x xato, & Talita Otović from the GUN community reinterpreted these to deliver a 10-track compilation that ranges from vaporous synthetic soundscapes to deafening growls, bitter hits and jarring noises. A caustic club material to handle with caution !

Sueuga (she/her) @sueuga is a Mexican artist, DJ, and producer known for her releases on pivotal labels such as NAAFI, Hiedrah, Salviatek, Sacrilejio, Soul Feeder, Arboretum, and Precious Metals among the others. Now based in Amsterdam but raised in Oakland, California where she started her music career by collaborating with artists from the Neoperreo scene, Sueuga has been an important actress in the contemporary scene thanks to her experimental, mutant club outings primarily inspired by industrial music and dominated by unsettling atmospheres, ferocious drums, and abrasive textures. We’re very excited to announce the release of her new “Conflict Areas” EP that will be out on Friday, February 16th. 

The 5-tracker opens up with a short and eerie introduction called “Dragged” which indeed abruptly drags the listener into a perilous sound journey composed of explosive rhythmic discharges that also extend to the second and third tracks, the titular “Conflict Areas” and “Heat Therapy”. Thanks to its extensively variegated yet immediately accessible and catchy compositions, Sueuga’s awe-inspiring work manages to summon dark, infernal scenarios while also envisioning bright futures of long-awaited victory, offering a commentary on the existential struggle of unconditionally and wholeheartedly affirming one’s existence in turbulent, oppressive times. With its sense of unavoidable and relentless tension, the entire EP is an act of belligerent resistance in sound form.

The two final tracks host collaborations with the founder of the overmybody.tw label, Taipei-based DJ and producer B E N N @bedoublensound, and Duma’s noise/metal experimental musician Sam Karugu, respectively. While the first one (“Hidden Fees”) indulges into the heavy-hitting, cadenced percussive progressions previously shown in the rest of the EP (and here enriched by deep, bursting basslines and a ghastly melody), the latter (“MMXXIII”) provides a free-form anthem for all the metalheads where rumbling distortion and eerie vocals meet incessant lamentations and gurgling noise in the background.

Blown by the Wind is a project that highlights the voices of the Global URL Nation community, and the textures that can be created from them. The voices mingle and intertwine until a soundscape shimmering compilation is woven.

It was a project in two phases. The first one consisted in the creation of a common pack of vocal samples - anyone from the GUN community could contribute with what they already had, or could create something specifically for the project.

In the second phase, artists from GUN could propose a track using this sample pack. The idea was to consider voices as key instruments, with the possibility of shaping, distorting and transforming them at will to create new textures.
