Even out of town, I am not far away from the mic and production gear.  This is a spot a client of mine called for a last minute need, and even though I was out of town assisting my father, was able to knock this out and produce it remotely.

At this time of year thousands converge on the NAB Convention in Las Vegas.  I usually attend and while there, it always makes me remember a funny story about our former General Manager Ted Smith.  Ted was truly a national treasure. A WW2 British spitfire pilot that saw many combat missions. But he was also a broadcaster, and incredible word smith. Real estate is very competitive, especially here in Texas where people are flocking from all over the country.

In today's podcast, we share a campaign for a real estate company using local radio to set them apart from agents that may dabble in or just work in the industry part-time.  (And there are a lot in these two groups!)

This simple idea came up when talking to them about the pervasive idea that, "if I have all this information at my fingertips, why exactly do I need a Realtor?" and a solution to combat that mindset.  

That includes educating the potential clients that buying or selling real estate is not an easy thing and demonstrating outstanding customer service which is what sets them apart from other Realtors. 

And they are doing this by using Radio!

MuddFest - 2019

I had the pleasure and opportunity to talk with Don Lafontaine about a year before he passed away while doing some research for a book on how people got into voice over. Not as a road map on getting in, but an example of what it took the most talentd people in the industry to make it. This is the one passage that just jumped out to me, and it deals with people that are starting the business, and start out wrong.  Take a listen.
