The shift is underway. We've seen the writing on the wall, and the transformational paradigm realignment in the electronic music industry is afoot. No longer are fans content to bang their heads in hedonistic ecstasy before passing out under a car in the parking lot. Supporters of the scene want more--and they're getting it. The sacred bass and downtemple scenes are emerging from their west coast haven to spread the word from coast to coast.

And it's a European producer who has gotten the ball rolling. Since the 80's, Toby Marks has been an influential producer and label head, amassing a huge catalog of tunes and treasures. His most recent album, Apollo, breathes new life into the industry, and as such, the remixes are equally potent. Artists like GAUDI, Kaya Project, and Eat Static take their turns on Ollopa: Apollo Remixed, and the results are extraordinary.

Today, we premiere the Desert Dwellers remix of "All Sleeping." This reset button for the body and soul is a liquid trip down healing waters into a soothing pool of transfixing percussion and light, glitchy melodies. Slip away on a whisper with this translucent delight that captures the mind. It's out there. And there's no doubt the boys are going to break it out when they play Sonic Blossom in Denver, CO next week. It's too good to keep locked up.

This music is all unreleased work, the first half of the set did not exist before I started to work on the set. I try to make a different experience every time I do something, even if it is just slightly. There is the tracks, and there is my live experiment - which is creating new worlds all the time. These worlds are inspired by you, my interaction with you and the environment around me. There is much love and care in these worlds as I would like to create a journey we can take together. I hope you enjoy it.

Earlier this year Desert Dwellers released their most diverse album in the duo's long career. The Great Mystery was the first full length collaborative project between the main founders Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe, and featured a wide range of styles and aesthetics from downtempo and psychedelic dub to tribal trance to exotic house and techno flavors.

To celebrate the special release, Desert Dwellers have curated an ambitious two-part remix album full of contributions from some of the brightest luminaries and rising talents across the underground electronic music landscape. The Great Mystery Remixes Part 1 is slated for a September 21st release, and features sonic reinterpretations from Gaudi, Liquid Stranger, Hibernation, An-ten-nae, Kaminanda, AtYya, Tribone, Twin Shape, Land Switcher, Drumspyder, and Govinda. The second part will be released in late October with contributions from Emancipator, Whitebear, Sixis, Mystral, Supersillyus, Halfred, Master Minded, and many others. With artists from across the globe and musical genres, these carefully crafting renditions of Desert Dwellers' The Great Mystery are a potent combination of immersive soundscapes that pay a loving tribute to the original compositions.

When I Miss You

Treavor Moontribe of Desert Dwellers played a nearly 6 hour set recently at Moontribe Collective's 22 Year Anniversary! It was the closing set of a 2 day event that started Sunday night and ended Tuesday evening to align with June's full moon. The set started around 2pm Tuesday and took place in a magical location in the high desert of California. It spans many genres, going on a full journey of audio bliss!!! Enjoy!
