I mean what more can you say about the amazing Chaka Khan that hasn't already been said. Chaka has one of the strongest singing voices ever in my opinion and I always love her style. In 1980 (The year I first fell in love with Dance Music) Chaka Khan released her now classic album "Naughty." And what an album it has become. Her song "Papillon" is still one of my all time fav's from her, but its this Ashford & Simpson gem that gets me every single time I hear it. Straight Fire! Besides Chaka's incredible energy on this song, the drums played by Steve Ferrone totally stood out to me. I didn't want to add too many extra sounds because I really wanted Steve's drums to stand out even more. I really hope you guys enjoy this Chaka Khan reboot and play it loud and often in 2023... Let's Dance!!!

It was summer of 1984 the first time I heard this classic song.  No, it wasn't the original 1973 version of "Why Can't We Live Together" by the great Timmy Thomas which I would discover much later. It was Sade's version from her very first album "Diamond Life." I remember standing on Jefferson Ave. in my hometown of Detroit and this kid walked by playing it loudly on his "Boom Box" (It completely stopped me in my tracks).  I've been in love with this song ever since. This sultry version by the incredible Shaun Escoffery (Singer of House Classics: "Days Like This" & "Music In Me")has also been a favorite of mine for a minute now.
