Written over a period of a few months. Inspired by Eric Larson's 'the Devil in the White City'. A nonfiction book about the 1893 Colombian expo (worlds fair) in Chicago. 
My song is fiction. I tried a few  different  story lines.  The young star crossed lovers worked out best.  The song will have a companion on the record, called 'bones and wire', a murder ballad about H.H. Holmes, the famous Chicago serial killer, who lured young victims from the fair to his hotel of horrors.  Creepy stuff, all the more so, because it really happened.

This song is an upbeat, low down warning song about the evils of drugs, kids.
Loosely based on some reality I knew, some friends, some fiction, and a pinch of 'Breaking Bad', (shot in my hometown of Albuquerque, NM).

This is a song I started writing in may of 2012 and finished in June of 2014, it never left my mind entirely, just was hard to finish up.   Musically, its heavily inspired by my love of the "60's era southern music coming out of Stax records, and Muscle Shoals.  This song will have horns, B3 organ, and a Duck Dunn bassline.

Jimmy is currently working on a new solo record that will delve more into the southern soul sounds of the '60's, and '70's,  Mixed with some of the classic country sounds he is know for, and some bare bones, one mic, one guitar and one man selections as well.
