UR Plans.

Urban Ruins are planning a couple more intimate events in some nice venues over the next few months, before we head overseas. We have decided to pack our bags, save some money and take UR to SE Asia.

We head to Asia in May, we will be traveling around until we settle in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh) Vietnam. We have found some amazing venues already where we hope to share our vibes.  

But for now, keep your eyes open for us in Manchester.

Urban Ruins - On The Road Mix #001

Resident DJ and Co Founder of Urban Ruins (Manchester), Jimmy Ladd has been a talented musician following his grandparents footsteps, learning the piano at aged 5 going on to mastering the Trumpet from the tender of age 8. 

Jimmy’s background in music equipped him with a wealth of knowledge and insight into the technicalities of reading, performing and producing music. His passion soon turned to the exciting genre of Electronic music. Buying his first mixer at the age of 15 this naturally talented DJ has enjoyed mixing his favourite tracks ever since. Jimmy’s main influences arise from the Electronic, Dub/Techno and Techno genres with DJS such as Ron Costa, Jay Lumen, Ben Klock, Maceo Plex, Proudly People, Recondite, Nicole Moudaber and Joseph Capriati to name a few.

After promoting for well known events such as the Warehouse Project and Parklike festival, Jimmy decided it was time to take events into his own hands.
 
Priding himself on bringing something different to the Manchester clubbing scene, his passion and inspiration from Berlin has driven him to create his own Berlin in the heart of Manchester. After searching the saturated underground scene Jimmy soon realised the City’s potential to host unique events in exciting unused spaces, something the city was lacking. Kicking off with the launch of Day Sessions in Manchester’s Ancoats area, in a converted old meat hanger. 

After 2 years of underground raves and parties underneath train tracks, abandoned factories and courtyards across Manchester, he decided to move on to the next challenge. This is where he discovered the potential in Saigon for "underground parties".

Jimmy recently relocated to Saigon, Vietnam to begin a new project "Movement". With Movement he aims to combine the best sounds of Techno with different venues around Saigon to create not just a club night but a unique experience showcasing, local, expat and international DJ talent. After 3 "Saigon Warehouse Project" parties he strongly believes that Saigon could be the next hot spot for underground club culture.
