Back in 2006 i did a rare live set of all my own music  at Global Gathering to a massive arena.  Unlike today the amount of preparation and equipment needed was crazy (Hence i only did a few)

The term Multi Genre Dj is something that really leaves a sour taste. It inadvertently  makes someone sound like a jack of all trades, master of fuck all! 


The key is not to be able to play the whole spectrum of dance music adequately. That is what a playlist on Apple music is for.  It is to be able to replicate that ideology within a set without comprising the quality or integrity of the flow or progression of the night, but to do so in a way people raise an eyebrow and remember it! Why pigeon hole music to a particular sub genre! As someone who is a big influence of mine once said (not Johny Favourite) 'its all House and Techno anyway'!


Jimmy Gooders is one such Dj who tries to break the mould from this god awful turn of phrase. Give him a set time, whether its early doors or into the late hours, he will deliver. Long term residencies at respectable brands Juicy and Blessed highlight this notion. 


Underrated, perhaps an unsung hero, Jimmy specialises and excels in the dying art of warm up, and has been said on many an occasion that most dont come close. Breaking away from the standard issue of playing an hour of Untidy Dubs, and any old shit that happens to be under 140bpm on Toolbox Digital, Jimmy thrives on that crate digging vibe, playing hidden gems and curveballs that keep sets engaging. Track selections ranging from House, Disco, Tech House, Techno and even the occasional Hard Dance track are thrown into the pot. Not to pander to this cliched  and ridiculous multi genre tag, but great music is great music irrespective of what fancy sub label we wanna categorise it as right!?  


Over the years, Jimmy has managed to accumulate an array of respectable Dj accomplishments. Having Played for the likes of Tidy, Goodgreef Xtra Hard, Storm, Xstatic, Stay Up Forever,  Tasty vs Encoded and many more.

Attaining long term residencies  as already mentioned  with Juicy and Blessed, and having tracks released on labels including World Sound, Boxt and Cheeky Tracks to name a few.



More recently, Jimmy has forged a partnership with long term b2b partner Johny Favourite , going under the very original name of Johny & Jimmy; which you will see more of in the coming months. Created off the back of having similar ideas and tastes in music.  Its early days but with already having won the 9 bar remix competition and bookings from The Bounce Factory and Shed Sessions already in place, things are looking bright for this newly formed duo!
