3 QUESTIONS to JOHN TEJADA:

Q: Let's get into the mood for your mix: Why did you select these tracks and what do they still mean to you today?

A: I wanted to dig through my vinyl collection and find some key influential tracks that made me want to one day create electronic music. These tracks shared a lot of music technology even though they were from different genres. I regularly go back to these songs as I can still feel that initial influence these tracks had as I heard them for the first time as a kid. They seemed so futuristic. Without all the info we have at our disposal today, I remember just wondering how and where these tracks came from. They continue to inspire me to this day. 

Q: How did you reflect the past 2 years of pandemic for yourself, your creativity and your life?

A: It was of course a very strange time, but it gave me time to focus on what’s important and how I want to continue with my work and everything else as normalcy is slowly returning. Those 2 years really helped me to focus in and appreciate quality time with everything I do, wether it’s being home, working on music or performing. 

Q: Which projects are you currently working on and what can we expect soon?

A: I’ve got a new solo EP out on Palette July 29th called “Nocturama.” Also, my remix of Orbital’s “Impact” is out on the same day.
