Pretty much every critical reaction I trust for this film has boiled down to, "Mister Spielberg, you are no Paul Verhoeven." Verhoeven would have made a deconstruction of amazing depth; Spielberg just made the book less shitty.

Yep. I have successfully watched all of 2001--but not all at once. I had to do it piecemeal because inevitably I will fall asleep at some point. I might try it again while grinding in a game on my laptop to keep me awake.

@user-275973006: Why do people play Roguelite games? Failure penalty does not prevent people from taking a challenge. Unfortunatelly some game designers really do not understand that without failure penalty there is no reason to ever improve.

The least believable parts of this flick are the actual fantastical elements.
