"The Chill Hive" is a communication from the planet Randicle Jamicalus. It is a message of chill for the mind of a crazy upload. Dig to the Random Five Colors as you slip the spacial inside. Why so strange? Every instrument you hear was created on the IPHONE. Nothing is real. I Played the guitar solos by tapping POCKETGUITAR. The Koto was IKOTO. The backbone of it all is the killer app RANDGRID. The last half I tweaked BLOOM creations (by alternating moods and tapping seed notes). The sounds are real, yes. But what sounds like one thing is really another. Apps: RANDGRID, IKOTO, POCKETGUITAR, BLOOM. Mixed in Reaper.

Don't Touch My Junk - v2 Louder

Someday when this is done, after a rocking gig in a private setting, the musician of the future, armed only his/her iPhone and iPad, will have to fend off the groupies of the future, who will hopefully be humans and not iPhones and iPads themselves. But you never know. Made with FunkBox, NLog synth, MultiTrack, and iPad GarageBand. It will be longer than 40 seconds in the near future, one would hope, being a groupie song...

Get aboard the Air Ship Elvis. Two space themed rock your ass ideas put into my iPod library, years later (just now) imported into the iPad's MultiTrack app and mixed, spliced, and diced. Uploaded directly to SoundCloud. The two ideas have slightly different BPM which you may notice in the final part of the song. (I could not easily alter BPM using any iOS apps I currently have). Made for a video on a blog post (see below) but the scene cuts don't match the music too well. Maybe I need the iMovie app for iPad?

Yeah it is craZy. Raw early version, why? Because it is _art_ craZy art uncluttered by normal-ness. Yeah (i opened Garage Band to remake a normal type song and this bizarre stuff just tapped out).

Jazz Craziness. (has a standup bass line u might not hear on computer speakers).  Four iphone apps used: ThumbJam and DrumJam (the jazz and drums), Hokusai to mangle the DrumJam audio, mixed in MultiTrack app app and upload straight to soundcloud. All iphone. All mobile, thumbs and fingers, on the phone. Only needed computer to put track art on it.

In Hokusai I reversed the DrumJam audio, added slight reverb, re-reversed it and then maybe compressed and stuff, I forget exactly. It introduced some distortion to the DrumJam audio, but so what. 

It's easy to forget how powerful ThumbJam it. My brain sees lots of buttons hidden away, mysterious, but somehow I figured out how to get this out of it :) For some reason ThumbJam said the bpm was 112.5 so then I made DrumJam tracks at 112.5 bpm too. Put them all in MultiTrack and OOPS, the ThumbJam stuff was actually 112.0 bpm. On desktop this is trivial to streatch the audio. But on iPhone I dont know what app changes BPM and leaves all else the same, which one does that!?

I'll probably continue to refine the track and upload better versions (I hope).

Jazz2point5 - iPhone ThumbJam DrumJam Hokusai and MultiTrack

The <a href="http://www.soundtrends.com/apps/studiomx_upgrade/">Studio MX</a> app is like a littler StudioHD thing, stripped down for iPhone. 
Like the big one, StudioMX gives you FX to layer on automation. So do it! Right there, you got 3 or 4 slots, just slap on the FX, (make sure no track is armed 4 audio), then tap record and make your FX moves. Do it up. Repeat with more FX on top of that, keep doing it. Do it, do it... 
Yes now you are chill, at one with the music in your hands, that is, with the iPhone music all in your hands. Treat it right! Yes. (But if u upload, know its typical these Studio apps make a track public even if you put that switch off, so it's public, even if u just Learning this new app, on iPhone). But if it's chill, then you are chill. Yeah.
The name? Think of some laid back music studio somewhere, yeah, very chilled out, like that or something.
FX USED: on tracks one and two, i tweeted about over <a href="https://twitter.com/JimStraynge/status/262381616813465600">here</a> and <a href="https://twitter.com/JimStraynge/status/262376356732628992">here</a> with screen shots and other Info. they are all automated and layered, Track t has drums without flanger and exploding up sound in break. Track 2 has most of the drums with the slow flanger, and the dip down and up sound in the break.

Several people I respect implicitly, master musicians, song writers, have said very nice things about this song, therefor I have to figure it's not that bad, True this song mystifies me, thus my original description:  Sometimes you wonder how a song got so bad. This is one of those times.

Life in a Cage

All iPad mad chill track. Trip on some apps Groovebox (which gave song random name Gooey :), Dub Delay, Rough Rider, AUM, AudioShare and more. Track art thrown together with several photo apps. Yeah dude

Gooey Rider

Used original Jammy guitar as a MIDI controller (Bluetooth) with iPad GarageBand app. All improvised, usually one-takes. Used Jammy to play the iPad GarageBand guitar, did about 3 or 4 guitar tracks and then a bass track.
everything used Jammy as a controller, yeah, Bluetooth man. Played the Jammy, it tells iPad what I'm doing, and the GarageBand guitar makes the sound, including the bass track. 
On occasion I used the GarageBand MIDI editor to move the notes around. 
Made the beats with that GarageBand old school beat machine thing on which I pressed a some random buttons or whatever and tweaked it to get a few different beats. Finally added a synth pad, a single note which I tapped on the screen. Obviously the song is not finished, since I wrote it on-the-spot ;)
Exported file from GarageBand, added some reverb using TwistedWave.

Flurries in DC

You get: 3 min late 60s acid drenched riff, 1 min with regga bass, 2 min with club beat, 1 minute hybrid rock style - all over the same slow handed power guitar riff !!!
Three different and intersecting tempos, 80bpm riff, 102bpm guitar FX, and a dance beat part that's syncs on odd times with the guitar riff. The bassline has a beatsynced volume FX. Put together in the same song, will it work?! A mad experiment, in progress.
From a far away place where wild music grows comes an explosive mix of 60s acid rock and modern techno. The crew from Club Molotov combined with the Club Acidity for a one night jam. Normally rivals, for a brief moment sparks flew. This recording is all that's left of that night, legend says.

Track composed on iPhone with BEATMAKER, then imported into Audacity and mangled considerably. Slowed down several times, phased, flanged, and delayed, and sped back up a few times. Experimental.

I play these instruments: iPhone, Guitar, Bass, Drums, DJ, Remixer, iPad, and the PC, loops, wav files, reverbs, compressors, master limiters, chorus and flange and delay, time shifters, pitch changers, and stuff like that. On iPhone iPad, using Intua BEATMAKER 1 2 and 3, and super amazing RANDGRID I still got loops, SoundGrid is back, the awesome PocketGuitar and Bloom apps. TwistedWave and mobile GarageBand is go-to, and NanoStudio 1 and 2 and harmonicdog MultiTrack and xewton MusicStudio and (on iphone1 i still have NOISE.IO ;) and ik GrooveMaker2 and lots many others. I dig mixing it up, guitar solos as part of song, changing major to minor, yep.
