Murmux Floor Filler

The Swallower. Modular synth, bagpipes and sax.
I have made this piece downloadable .

The Swallower evokes the power and majesty of the Pentland Firth which enjoys the 2nd fastest tidal races in the world. The piece was inspired by Nomadic Boulders, a sculpture by Dalziel and Scullion.
The sound design was created using a Eurorack modular synthesizer. Bagpipes were played by Steven Blake and Sax and Kaval were played by Fraser Fifield. Eurorack Modules used include RF Nomad short wave radio scanner sequenced by Metropolis, MI Elements which was used to model the giant 2m diameter rocks which are transported up to a kilometer with every tide. filters used include Schippmann VCF 02, FSS Spectral Devastator and the Chatterbox Resonator. Other oscillators used include Kirkpatrick Audio K3020 dual osc, Dinkies Taiko and Mysteron.
E560 Deflector Sheild was used to modulate noise in order to create one of the layers of the sea sounds.
No samples or ambient recordings of the sea were used in the creation of this recording, the sound design is done entirely electronically
