19.08.2024 – Jingle company PORS Impact Creative in Geldrop (The Netherlands) has re-sung the famous series You Campaign by TM Productions in Dallas from 1975. The customer for this is Radio Big B21 in Nijmegen.

The You Campaign consists mainly of long vintage station songs (30 to 60 seconds) and shorter versions of them. To get the same old-school sound, the original vocal arrangements were used. In addition, a 5-part choir has been put together that is musically exactly in line with the original. The members: Roger Happel, Ruurd Boes, Henrie Pors, Natasja den Toom and Dian Senders.

TM's You Campaign has previously been sung for major radio stations in the U.S. and abroad. A selection: 93 KHJ in Los Angeles (demo), KFRC in San Francisco, WFYR 103.5 in Chicago, WRKO 68 in Boston and RJFM 100.3 (DZRJ-FM) in Manila.

The original jingles of the You Campaign were sung by Ron Hicklin's famous jingle choir in Los Angeles. This unique choir was asked for hundreds of chart-topping songs but also many film music and jingle series. In addition to Ron Hicklin, the studio choir consisted of Tom Bähler, brother John Bähler, Jackie Ward and Sally Stevens, among others. They were the voices of world hits by The Partridge Family, The Monkees, David Cassidy, Neil Diamond, could be heard in the tunes of MASH, Batman, Flipper, The Chipmunks, sang jingles with jingle producers Heller Corporation, Killer Music, JAM Creative Productions and TM Productions, and commercials for MacDonald's, Kawasaki and Datsun. Their permanent workplace was the Larrabee Sound Studios in Los Angeles.

The jingles for the You Campaign were written and arranged by Dick Hamilton. And who wants to know who played the jingles: John Guerin (drums), Max Bennett (bass), Peter Maunu (guitar), the rhythm section of the band L.A. Express, L.A. String Section conducted by Jerry Vinci, Gayle Levant (classical harp), the Big Blow Hearts with horns Buddy Childers, Vince De Rosa, Bill Perkins, Don Walter, and the Ron Hicklin Singers. Almost all of them are big names in the Los Angeles jazz scene.

Radio Big B21 is an online station with a very extensive range of music from different periods. The programs, some of which are presented live, each have its own theme that highlights a certain period, such as the 60s and the 2000s. The station has Nijmegen (Wijchen) as its home base.

JINGLES: A COLLECTORS TALE

02.04.2012 - Edwin Evers, Giel Beelen, Dick Klees en Jan van de Putte. Deze vier overbekende radiostemmen vormen de basis van de jingledemo die het Genootschap radiojingles en –tunes vandaag uitbrengt. Geen enkel audio archief in de wereld presenteert zich op deze manier.
De demo laat een dwarsdoorsnede horen van het grootste jinglearchief van Nederland. Met jingles voor Radio 1 tot en met Radio 10, voor de beroemdste radiopersonalities en voor de bekendste radioprogramma’s. Van Ferry Maat tot Felix Meurders, van de Arbeidsvitaminen (AVRO) tot Zoekplaatje (VARA). De vier radiostemmen Edwin Evers (lb), Giel Beelen (rb), Dick Klees (ro) en Jan van de Putte (lo) hebben belangeloos aan de demo meegewerkt. De demo laat ook nooit uitgezonden en afgekeurde jingles horen voor onder meer Radio 2, de Top 40 en de TROS.
Verder zijn in de demo speciale jingleboodschappen te horen van Jon Wolfert (de baas van het grootste jinglebedrijf in de wereld JAM Creative Productions in Dallas) en de eveneens Amerikaanse jingleveteraan Tom Merriman (oprichter van TM, het oudste nog bestaande jinglebedrijf in de wereld).
