From Right to Left ...
The lead guitar part on this track is played by my dad Roy Brooks, who had been performing as a right-handed guitarist since the age of 15. After losing his left index finger in a workplace accident over 40 years ago, he has successfully changed from a right-handed guitarist, to a left-hander. Although Roy has been performing extensively since becoming a left-handed guitarist, it has taken four decades to fully master his instrument again. His persistence, determination, (the proverbial blood, sweat, and tears), and his undying passion for playing guitar, have been the driving force behind his incredible story. He says he never could have achieved this without the fantastic support from his family and friends.

Throughout our recording sessions, dad and I enjoyed experimenting with backing tracks, and an extensive range of delay and reverb effects to achieve that Hank Marvin sound. Apache was recorded and released by The Shadows in June 1960.

Dad used his Mexican Fender Sratocaster guitar on this track.

Originally written in 1973 in Honour of Marilyn Monroe who had died 11 years earlier.
Much later in 1997, the song was re-written and recorded as a tribute to the late Diana, Princess of Wales.

                                                   “Steeple Meet” 

As I stood upon a grassy hilltop in my small hometown, I looked out across the land. I soon became inspired by a cold, winter landscape, mysterious and dark, with wandering sound colour as clouds rolled across the sky, throwing out giant, unforgiving Angels of light onto distant hills and trees. 

Black clouds danced with ease, but with menace, unfolding whispers of dark Magic …

With a cold wind swishing and biting around my earlobes, I heard distant voices ebbing and flowing from a Church Steeple below, and a lonely bell, tolling in the wind.

A Choirs’ meet I thought. 

It filled the landscape with wholesome melody carried up by the sweeping wind. Divine, ghostly voices, soft, and deep, warmed my skin as invisible music score touched it, much like silk ... 

A low White sun, once again unhidden, forcing me to squeeze shut my eyes, to listen acutely, to be there! Fly there! Together, on dark, foreboding rooftops, to join in a Steeple Meet.

As your Trippin' Through Space you are bound to encounter the un ordinary.
I created for 6.1 Surround Sound speakers in a corridor. 
I tried to make it as headphone friendly as possible

Written for a Ballet Opera, (a be-heading scene). 

Wrongly convicted prisoner for the chop. Her soft, icy voice, beckons her loving ancestors to guide her gently over to the "other side". 
Thick velvet drapes enveloping the scene. Slow, exotic choreography, dramatic ghostly, shadowy figures in white, flowing veils, ample movement, illuminated as they catch mysterious light. Floating, chanting angels in tow, Gothic in style, and ritualistic. 

Slight dissonance added within musical composition, ideally, to enhance and interpret the nature of unsettling circumstance and mood. The growling, "metalic slices" at the beginning, represent the axe falling. A live taste of this in the theatre will leave you "chilly" ..

Swirling soundscapes, lighting and panning effects; It is dark, It is loud.

Tweak EQ on each individual vocal channel. Roll off high vocal frequencies.

Managing director and founder of JingleWorks International Ltd, Amanda Brooks, has been a vocalist/songwriter/musician for 35 years and has extensive experience in live sound/performance and recording. She has worked closely with producers and musicians to help and assist with various projects and stage work. Amanda branched out to form JingleWorks International Ltd on completion of her music technology studies. 
After successfully receiving a Triple Grade National Diploma in music technology in 2012 and a short break, Amanda then continued her studies and graduated with a B.A Honours Degree in Digital Music and Sound Art, and design at the University of Brighton 2019. Amanda is currently studying the M.A course in Digital Music and Sound Art at the University of Brighton.
