We couldn’t be more pumped to bring you podcast #143 from the master of seamless, rhythmic teasing and co-founder of Amenthia Recordings, Garçon.

Garçon stole our hearts at Paral.lel 2019 with the sublime, down-tempo, slow-build journey he artfully wove together. Experiencing that dance floor (its setting an idyllic spot in the Pre-Pyrenees mountains) come to life as we were elevated into a blissful haze, surrounded by fellow music lovers surrendering to the ride, was a moment we’ll never forget.

For us, the beauty of garçon is his ability to create seamless, continuously evolving journeys, to the point that the kick drums become one with your heart beat, where the synths and soundscapes engulf you until you and the music are no longer separate entities. You are one and the same, locked in a dance, pulsating with the rhythms of the universe, where time itself disappears. 

Garçon’s mix for On the 5th Day does all of this and more, inducing the ultimate trance-like state in his unique and stand-out signature style. We couldn't be more honoured to bring this absolute gem to you.

"To commemorate Inveins’ 100th episode, I wanted to create a journey that honors the story of the series thus far, reflecting on its influence as a long-standing narrative in techno and ambient while staying true to my personal style. To do so I sought out a sense of balance when developing the mix, trying to find a careful harmony between the inspiriting and the meditative, a flow that shifts but never strays, and drawing from producers and labels whose music I consider both contemporary and timeless. 

I hope the recording captures my respect and admiration for the series, bookending one chapter while opening the door to the next."

Amsterdam-based DJ Cobahn embarked on her musical journey amidst Seoul's vibrant techno scene, immersing herself in its spiritual depths. With regular performances at Club Vurt, renowned as an underground techno bunker in Seoul, she refined her craft through various parties. Now rooted in Amsterdam, she expands her musical horizons across Europe.

Her performances grace prestigious venues such as De School, Tresor, Garage Noord, alongside renowned techno events like Ratherlost and Pax Romana, as well as festivals like Mostra. Notably, she is featured on the artist lineup of Dekmantel 10 and Paral·lel festival this year.

Influenced by Eastern culture and the captivating force of nature, her music seamlessly blends deep, psychedelic elements into a dark, polyrhythmic, yet irresistibly groovy soundscape.

Cobahn's sonic journey aims to transport listeners into a ritualistic state of mind, where the boundaries between consciousness and the subconscious blur. Focused on a spectrum of deep, organic, and avant-garde sounds, her sets are deeply connected to hypnotism, inviting audiences to explore the depths of their own.

Joan Gila, a vinyl enthusiast, is the curator of @hoc-radio and also manages a small cassette label focused on ambient, avant-garde, and experimental music called @red-edge-label. He is part of the duo @binomi with his friend @slim-jordi.
This DJ set was recorded in Madrid at the Temple event, curated by @machines-desirantes and @javier-camunas, which takes place at @espacio-perpendicular, an intimate venue with exquisite sound. This particular set is Temple 03 featuring @hardcore-chillout, and it's an exercise in mixing and merging an older record from around the 80s with a new one, playing with them in such a way that the listener doesn’t know where they are.

"Contrasts between traditional atmospheres and sounds that evoke something more classical, with glitchy and luminous melodies that transport you to a city of the future. An amalgam with a refined, aesthetic quality that defines an influence."

Menhir is a music and art collective formed by singer Coco Moya (@mediococo) and producer Iván Cebrián, based in Spain. In between contemporary electronics, ambient, and minimalism music. Menhir creates immersive musical experiences by combining analog synthesis soundscapes, ethereal voices, and layered sound processing.

Menhir's note: 

This mix is the result of exploring some of our musical influences. It features a couple of surprises, such as a recording we made of Gregorian chant at the monastery of Silos, a renowned site for this musical form across the peninsula. It's quite fascinating and beautiful how it blends into the mix with absolutely contemporary music. In essence, we were seeking music for listening and music as a form of knowledge.

DOC (@doc_sounds) landed, some years ago, in a musical planet inhabited by all things deep. DOC has a genre agnostic approach to his music selection. If it is psychedelic, ritualistic and hypnotic, it fits. He picks from techno, ambient, breaks, house, dub and downtempo to create a trip of his own, aiming at providing both a body and mind experience.

His monthly podcast, Selene Series (@seleneseries), has taken DOC to Operator Radio or K- Studio in the Netherlands. He also has collaborated with other renowned podcast series like Codecast or Anodynic frequencies. With Selene Series, DOC explores the different shapes that deep and psychedelic electronic music can take. Selene Series is а podcast that has been running for over 3 years and is released each full moon. Lastly, with The Continuum, his Selene Series channel opened the doors for international guests to share their sounds on the platform.

For our sixteenth instalment we’ve invited AERAE, a French DJ and producer currently making her way into the deep and tribal techno scene. 

Over the past years she played at numerous stages alongside renowned DJ’s throughout Europe under her former alias, during this period she was ever evolving as an artist. At the beginning of 2024 her debut EP 'Percussive Reverie' was released on Annulled Music, this EP set the tone for a new chapter in her musical journey. It was reviewed as ‘Best Album of the year’ on the popular German magazine GROOVE, which is a big compliment to her producing skills.

“Through this mix, I aimed to capture the feeling of a walk through an enigmatic, slightly dark forest where wild creatures lurk in the shadows. We can hear the river and birds, offering a sense of reassurance on this journey.”

Jin Synth, a DJ, musician, and sound artist based in London, blends various textural and experimental analogue noise elements into her music. She plays synthesisers, modular, and a variety of microphones for field recording. During her live performances, Jin seeks to create an abstract, meditative atmosphere for her audience by freely improvising with her set-up. Recently, she has devoted herself to the field of sonic art and is constructing her own instruments and DIY microphones in order to produce unique sounds.
