The riddim is a reimagining of the reggae classic ‘Real Rock’ produced by Coxsone in 1967 with both Gigante and Tom Spirals lyrically lamenting lockdown and celebrating the easing of restrictions.
This release immediately has an anthemic sound to it whilst perfectly capturing the mood of the moment.  An instant classic, some might say.

After being introduced to each other by a mutual friend in 2016, JInx in Dub and Gigante have been working together on various musical projects ever since. Their latest project Jinx & Gigante is the culmination of their shared experience of the music industry, the impact of covid, Black Lives Matter and the changes each have brought about to the other’s working style.

Jinx & Gigante is a 50/50 project with both artists contributing equally to the process of writing and recording audio as well as video. No more will Gigante be featuring for Jinx or any other arrangements often seen in our industry. These are two artists with parity of esteem working to birth their unique take on reggae music, with its traditional political commentary, into the world.

Loved this tune for years but had always found the mix down quite poor and had always wanted the drums to have some balls to them. So, heres my version. Not brilliant as i struggled with the pitch up in tempo on the original. But it'll do for the old crusty crew dem.x
