Have you ever felt nostalgic for a past you didn't leave? have you ever been moved to tears by someone else's vivid dream vignettes? have you ever felt like a stranger gets you more than most people, only through their music and creative vision? these are some of the things we felt when we first discovered Jioni Was Here's body of work. Instantly captivated by the mysterious nature of the project, we got in touch with the artist, and got them to release an album with us that was once hidden, lost, and found once again; this time ready to be shown to the world as one cohesive culmination to a years-long creative effort. A love letter to bedroom nostalgia, to the small songwriter who, from time to time, accidentally touches the hearts of the people who are open-minded enough to let beauty into their life, even if it comes from an unexpected source, in this case, a furry with a heavy mexican accent recording songs onto cassette tapes. Are you feeling open-minded?
