Dames Brown continue to build upon their Defected success with this remix package from the soulful innovators Floorplan. Fresh from their double release on Classic Music Company that received major BBC Radio 1 attention, ‘We Give Thee Honor / Makes Me Wanna’, the fellow Detroiters lend their unmistakeable brand of eclectic, gospel house to ‘Glory’ for a match-made-in-heaven remix that celebrates the two neighbouring genres of soul and gospel. ‘Glory’, featuring Dirt Tech Reck label founder Waajeed, saw the uplifting track spotlighted by BBC Radio 6’s Craig Charles, capturing the effervescence of the Dames on his flagship show.

Hitting the music press headlines recently was news of a second Floorplan album.  Now M-Plant delivers a first taste of this highly anticipated release with two tracks from the album, ‘Music’ and ‘Tell You No Lie’.

Floorplan is already well known as Robert Hood’s house, disco, funk and gospel outlet, which this year evolves into a family affair with co-production alongside his daughter, Lyric.  ‘Victorious’ will be the second Floorplan album and follow-up to 2013’s ‘Paradise’ which spawned ‘Let’s Ride, ‘Baby Baby’ and the massive ‘Never Grow Old’.

Set to replicate the success of ‘Paradise’, ‘Victorious’ will be released in June.  To precede it, the single released at the end of April is comprised of the bumping house groove of ‘Music’ (which received it’s first global airing on B.Traits’ BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra show in February) and the disco rotations of ‘Tell You No Lie’. 

Both tracks are exceptionally infectious, with tough beats, glorious vocal reprises and sure not to disappoint.

13th September sees the prolific British house and techno DJ/producer Mark Broom and Snatch! Records’ esteemed label boss Riva Starr combine to deliver their first collaborative single under the guise of Star B entitled ‘Gotta Have You’.

This essential maiden collaboration follows previous Snatch! releases from the likes of Steve Bug, Parris Mitchell, Nina Kraviz, Arthur Baker, Green Velvet, Groove Armada and CamelPhat plus Broom’s very own ‘The Way’ EP earlier this year.

Both Starr and Broom are prolific producers and have been igniting dancefloors all over the world for many years with their unique club-ready productions, but now the time has come for both artists to merge their unparalleled studio prowess and experience to create ‘Gotta have You’ - their outstanding debut record.

‘Gotta Have You’ announces Star B in style, serving up a stomping peak time disco house workout which utilises a stimulating funk/soul sample set to an infectious groove which oozes summer vibes right from its core. There’s no wonder heavy DJ support is already coming from the likes of leading names such as Carl Cox, The Martinez Brothers, Pan-Pot, The Black Madonna and Hot Since 82 among others.
