James Clark is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at McGill University in Montreal, shaping the minds of future innovators. He is also JJClark, an electronic musician who crafts experimental, yet accessible, compelling songs and soundscapes. 

His music explores a wide range of musical sources, from modular analog synthesizers, digital instruments like Reaktor and Serum, samples of all kinds, speech synthesizers, and AI vocals. He makes uses of modern production tools such as Ableton Live,  Push, Max, Vocaloid, Melodyne and Digitakt. 

This unique intersection of academia and artistry is also the driving force behind Cylonix, Clark's venture into designing and building electronic music modules. His creations under the Cylonix name, such as the Cyclebox, Shapeshifter, and Rainmaker modules, empowers fellow artists to explore new sonic frontiers, reflecting a deep understanding of both the technical and creative aspects of electronic music production.
