Bite It GG

One from last year. Wanted some new ones to play at open mics so put this one down quickly with the simplest riff ever. 4 frets on the down. Then just messed around with it.

Chorus melody and lyrics inspo from my friend TK.

Found time to pump this one over the finish line in a few sessions whilst 'traveling'.
Vox laid down from Bangkok. Good little space.

An idea that came up towards the end of last year. Enjoyed recording this and doing a different style. 

Did over a few sessions in a week. Keyed in drums and bass Wednesday. Recorded guitars and vocals Thursday(?) afternoon. Did the edits and mixes on Sat eve and Sun morning.

YRU So Afraid?

Originally played this one acoustic at open mics. First finished the piece so I could play it when I was in Berlin last July.  It has been the funnest song to play for sure. I start in either silence, or a classical guitar style piece, then abrubtly just shout ATTENTION! It works a treat and fun to see everyone in the room's head swivel before I crank out a descending riff on the acoustic lol.

Laksmi in Kreuzberg has probably been the best reception I've got but it was pretty funny going hardcore with it on a quiet night at a small bar on a Tuesday night in my small hometown of Leamington Spa in the UK.

The lyrics are partially inspired by the work of Cal Newport, his books Deep Work and Digital Minimalism.
