Alexander Kowalski

Born in Greifswald, Germany, the first decisive direction for Alexander Kowalski was the move to Berlin with his family in the 1980s. He spent his formative years as teenager in the city where the fall of the wall and resulting chaotic and creative sense of freedom initiated a worldwide reputation that is today legendary.

Alexander was drawn to the buoyant Berlin techno scene that would spawn so many outstanding producers and DJs of his generation. Soon he was regularly buying the newest techno and house records from Detroit and Chicago at the Berlin record store Hard Wax, which opened in 1989 and become a focal point in the scene. 

Motivated by a coincidence, 
Alexander began a musical self-discovery although he was raised without learning to play a musical instrument or reading musical notes. He found a tracker software for the Amiga 500 on a floppy disk that also contained an editable demo file with primitive remixes of Depeche Mode songs. After a few playful attempts with the tracker, Alexander realized that he had found the potential to express himself creatively and refine his own musical language. Together with a friend he began to construct a home studio where he soon produced his first demos.

Il a passé ses années de formation à l'adolescence dans la ville où la chute du mur et le sentiment de liberté chaotique et créatif qui en a résulté ont initié une réputation mondiale aujourd'hui légendaire.

Alexander a été attiré par la scène techno berlinoise dynamique qui allait engendrer tant de producteurs et de DJ exceptionnels de sa génération. Bientôt, il acheta régulièrement les derniers disques techno et house de Detroit et de Chicago au magasin de disques berlinois Hard Wax, qui ouvrit en 1989 et devint un point central de la scène. 

Motivé par une coïncidence, 
Alexander a commencé une auto-découverte musicale bien qu'il ait été élevé sans apprendre à jouer d'un instrument de musique ou à lire des notes de musique.
Il a trouvé un logiciel de suivi pour l'Amiga 500 sur une disquette qui contenait également un fichier de démonstration modifiable avec des remix primitifs de chansons de Depeche Mode.

Après quelques tentatives ludiques avec le tracker, Alexander s'est rendu compte qu'il avait trouvé le potentiel de s'exprimer de manière créative et d'affiner son propre langage musical. Avec un ami, il commence à construire un home studio où il produit bientôt ses premières démos.

Having run for well over a decade, Intec was launched in the late 90s and in that time has featured tracks and remixes by artists ranging from Oxia and Deetron to Marco Bailey and Ben Sims. 

The new Intec release is from DJ Jock aka Stipe Koki, a Croatian artist who regularly plays many of Croatias top clubs, and on this circuit met Carl Cox who signed his first Intec release in 2015. Now on his third solo EP for Intec, DJ Jock has also featured tracks and remixes on labels including Cristian Varela's Pornographic, UMEKs 1605 and Sasha Carassi's Phobiq. A promising young talent, DJ Jock is only 26 years old, so there is no doubt that this is only the beginning of his career. Having already remixed music from the likes of Ken Ishii and Hollen, he is already building an impressive musical legacy. 

First on the release, Tension has a hard hitting kick drum at its foundation, which hammers a relentless energy deep to into its core. Meanwhile bass stabs play a game off call and response, where a variety of synths paint a tapestry of sonic textures. Lifted by the vocal sample and a euphoric pad, this fiery techno anthem is something of a beast. 

The second track OutLand is fuelled by the bassline, and with a groove like a well-tuned engine full of torque and high in horsepower. Hard hitting mechanical percussion sounds like hammers on sheet metal, making this is an industrial monster that is certainly a force to be reckoned with. When it things couldnt get any more intense, the lead comes in and cranks it up a gear for maximum dancefloor destruction.
