Her mixes are characterized for featuring hard, experi-mental, and fast beats. She has called this 1 hour set as "Mental Aritmia", so you can imagine now what to expect.

Lenas erster Club-Gig ist noch gar nicht so lange her - um genau zu sein 1 1/2 Jahre. Inspiriert durch die Musik hat sie also die letzten Jahre genutzt, um für ihr Studium zu lernen und um Vollgas Richtung Techno zu geben und jegliche freie Zeit in die Musik zu investieren.
Inzwischen hat die Kölnerin auf renommierten Labels (Katermukke, Dantze, Like Records, ..) ihre ersten Releases abgeliefert und konnte zuletzt noch auf dem Dach der Lanxess Arena bei einem Live Stream ein Set spielen. Fragt man Lena nach ihrer Lieblingsmusik, so liegt ihr „Wohlfühlbereich“ in der House Musik und im Minimal.

Mit „anders“ verbindet Lena Mut und vor allem auch mal aus der Reihe tanzen zu dürfen.

Сьогодні особливий #back2rootsmix, адже це перший у цій рубриці мікс від українського діджея, який також є одним із моїх улюблених вітчизняних електронщиків. Зустрічайте – Сергій Галан, він же Haze. Його Aimless EP (t.me/glubinaz/827) я оглядав цього літа, і якщо ви з якихось причин пропустили його, обов’язково надолужте – реліз дійсно крутий💪. Що стосується міксу, він вийшов дуже ностальгічним, перш за все для мене самого, оскільки мій музичний досвід на зламі 90-х і 2000-х формувався саме під впливом брейкбіту та олдскульного прогресиву. За High Roller та I Have Put Out The Light окрема подяка – це дуже особисті треки. Ну а Pink Floyd як фінальний акорд – це просто космос.

Haze:
«Я зібрав музику зі шкільних та студентських років, яка вплинула як на мої музичні смаки, так і на мене як діджея. Cygnus Rift – один із треків із Need for Speed: High Stakes, я міг просто сидіти в меню гри та насолоджуватися ним. Не обійшлося й без фільмів: дивився в кінотеатрі The Matrix Reloaded і запам’ятав момент вечірки у Зіоні, від музики просто мурашки по шкірі пішли, пізніше дізнався, що це адаптація треку Fluke - Slap It. The Crystal Method, пам’ятаю, як хтось зі школи дав мені касету послухати, тоді я навіть не знав, хто автор цієї музики, але для мене це було щось неймовірне. Знайомство з The Prodigy – цікава історія. У школі я чув розмови про якусь круту групу, але чомусь думав, що це якийсь жорсткий метал, який мені тоді не подобався і не подобається досі. Але згодом я все-таки взяв касету з зображенням антен для космічного зв’язку (альбом Out of Space) і просто офігів від саунду.

Звісно, тоді траплялося багато цікавої для мене музики, яка не увійшла до міксу: The Chemical Brothers, Junkie XL, Fatboy Slim, Propellerheads. Пізніше, у студентські роки, мене підкорив британський прогресив-хаус – було багато заслуханих до дірок міксів від Sasha, John Digweed, James Holden, Satoshi Tomiie, Lemon8, Lexicon Avenue. Лейбли Bedrock, Global Underground, Saw Recordings та інші. У міксі є кілька треків тієї епохи. Завершує його Pink Floyd, які також вплинули на мене. Їхній саунд мені відкрив батько ще у ранні шкільні роки. Тоді я мало що розумів, але впевнений, що ця музика зіграла свою роль у формуванні мого смаку, і я донині надихаюся нею».

'Italy’s renowned DJ and label owner, Frankyeffe returns on July 20 with a blistering remix of TLA’s 1991 classic ‘Thank God It’s Friday,’ out via his own Riot Recordings label. 

Having previously featured on the likes of Senso Sounds, JAM, We Are The Brave, Filth On Acid, Tronic, Kraftek and Terminal M, Frankyeffe continues to make his mark with his Riot Recordings label. Following hot off the heels of ‘Skin’ - his recent collaboration with Germany’s BRUNA, Frankyeffe returns with yet another essential addition to his ever-expanding catalogue this time revisiting and re-working an Italian techno classic.  

TLA’s ‘Thank God It’s Friday’ was originally released in 1991. Coming at the dawn of the techno scene in Italy, TLA was the brainchild of DJ Massimo Salustri and musician Marco Merelli. As the first raves were happening Techno started to take its grip on the nation, especially in Rome, where TLA was born. ‘Thank God It’s Friday’ was a huge track in these early days of Italian techno, and one that Frankyeffe remembers having a massive influence. “It’s very different listening to the original now compared to back in 1990 – but it takes me back to a very happy time, a very different world to the one we find ourselves in now.”  

Having recently re-discovered the track during one of his lockdown vinyl streams Frankyeffe was blown away how good it still sounded and thought it would be fun to put his own take on it. “It all started with records like this”, says Frankyeffe. “When I listened to the vinyl after such a long time and it was still sounded so good, I knew I wanted to make a 2020 version. I wanted to show my love and respect for the original but also put my own spin on it.”  

Frankyeffe’s remix of Thank God It’s Friday will be available digitally from 20th July.   '

Cosmic Boys are back with a new EP on their label @legendaudio that features two new tracks in their hard-hitting style of peak time techno made for the dance floor.

The guys last EP picked up support from the likes of Adam Beyer, Pappenheimer and Roberto Capuano amongst many others, and the tracks are both charted inside of Beatport’s Top 100.

Many will also be familiar with the Cosmic Boys recent collaboration with UMEK on his label 1605, along with their contributions to Richie Hawtin’s iconic Minus.

Based in France, the duo’s new release features two original tracks that blend chunky percussion with high velocity rhythm and spine-tingling synth lines.

The EP’s title track “Digital Love” opens the release with dramatic bursts of explosive synths that spring forth to create a dramatic tension. Building towards the twisted euphoria and suspense of the main breakdown, the intensity is unrelenting as the kick drum thunders back in to create a drop of epic proportions.

Second of the two originals “Timeless” is equally ferocious with a compelling energy that is out of this world. Combining a throbbing bassline and high velocity lead synth the “how to release the pressure” vocal is perfectly suited to the onslaught of pent up energy this track unleashes when played at maximum volume, as it’s guaranteed to create a frenzy of excited dancing.

Cologne-based Patrik broke into the scene back in 2010 with his unique spin on techno. Signed to a number of top dance labels including Intec and Filth On Acid, he describes his sound as something which can make people dance. 

“His raw sound with emotional melodies and deep lyrics really touched me when I listened to it.” @monikakruse said. 

The latest EP ‘Like Forever’ on @terminalm combines trance like melodies, growling FX and warehouse drums in a soulful meleé of emotive mind music. Tribal rhythms, spoken word vocals and splashy percussive underbelly complete the picture. 

Monika adds her magic touch to the remix of the lead track, teasing out the main motifs and injecting a large dose of her own personality. ‘Hope’ is a whirlwind of arps and kettledrum kicks that create a wildly expansive soundscape that hypnotises you by stealth.
