He's always done it his way. On his own terms. Whether it was playing in heavy metal acts or brass bands, it didn't matter. Random Rab has always held his banner high. And on October 9th, when Release is... well... released, the electronic music industry will once again give the man his due and admit, "yup, there's only one Random Rab."

Today, we're thrilled to bring you the title track from the new album. The term "downtempo" belies the majesty, the utter mystical energy of a Rab tune. There's power and poise, subtlety and grace. The sheer intensity of a hypnotizing groove and his cool, crisp vocals carry more force than a thousand blaring subs rattling out the hardest bass grooves. The charts and charts of electronic dance singles can't measure up to the unfathomably deep intention this type of tune evokes. There's just nothing like a new Rab tune. This one is going to be on repeat.

For the past 5 years I have been touring as an electronic music composer and performer. It has been a joy, an honor, and an evolution to share my music with an audience that seems to put progressive ideas and community at the forefront of it's collective consciousness. I'm fully aware that without the support and participation of YOU GUYS this project would cease to exist. It's for that reason I feel indebted to the supporters of this project to use TPA as a platform to facilitate positive impact. &#13;

In speaking with so many of you guys at shows, festivals, and random encounters in the street, it has become clear that this music scene is ripe for some change. It's also clear that you guys want to be a part of it. In fact, the type of change that we are calling for will only work if you guys ARE involved. It's a collective movement that can be accelerated through artists, but ultimately comes down to the people--YOU.&#13;

People are attending concerts and festivals by the tens of thousands yet it is rare to see this energy mobilizing for a greater cause, a cause that directly affects the local community that is hosting the event. Yep, I'm with you. The party, the celebration is awesome. Shaking booty with your friends is heaps of fun. I know. I've been doing it for the past 5 years. But now, I'm longing for something more. Are you?&#13;
&#13;
Can impact and celebration co-exist in the same environment? Can community work parties and projects culminate in ecstatic dance party celebrations? Can we remember that festival culture all began with harvests where people busted their ass for a week(s), all of it culminating in a community celebration known as a festival?&#13;
&#13;
I'm curious. My gut tells me that this is the evolution that we are moving toward within our music scene. Realizing within ourselves that in giving, we are actually receiving. Understanding that it can feel so, so good to build with people to create something greater than our independent selves before or after we celebrate. Remembering that before anything else comes reverence for the earth, for without the earth we would not be. Simple truths.&#13;
&#13;
I've decided to dedicate this Fall tour to these ideals. Perhaps we can consider this a seed that is being planted to inspire other artists to do something similar. Maybe it's an experiment. We have a question and this experiment might be the beginning of an answer.....

Since the group’s inception from the eclectic underground of San Francsico’s performance art scene, Beats Antique has been notorious for making it impossible to sit still. In this modern incarnation, the musical alliance of producers David Satori and Tommy Cappel is inspired and emphasized by their collaborative partnership with world-renowned belly dance performer and music producer Zoe Jakes.
	All of this sets the scene for Beats Antique’s overtly ambitious stage show, a sensory overload conquest of the festival circuit’s most riotous events, such as Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and Outside Lands, as well as a catalog of dates with Bassnectar and a recent run with Les Claypool. 
	Continuing the prolific start to the band’s career, (2 album and 2 EP’s in 3 years) the band are set to release their new album, Blind Threshold, on September 14, 2010 on their own Antique Records imprint. Notable features of the new release include vaporous violins and Danny Elfman-esque dementia; glitchy, laser-guided harmonica provided by Blues Traveler frontman John Popper; and 2 very different vocal tracks that range between restless pop hooks and vibrant Eastern European dance loops. All wrapped into an intricate collection of heavy beats and sub bass. 
	Beats Antique is best imagined as an innovative creature built from the cumulative heritage of the world’s music chasing its tail. However vivid that image, when a marching band groove crashes into bluesy folk chords only to be accompanied by electronic beats and Middle Eastern melodies, you’ll still be surprised. Say’s Satori, “We are excited by the ability to create a huge sound from a relatively small setup, it gives us this whole new world of musical opportunities that we’re just starting to scratch the surface of.”
