I'm really digging the Motif again after not using it for quite a while...  I really love my Kronos but the Motif is just so easy to use and it still sounds great. Everything is Motif except the drums, they are from Logic Pro X

This is the song that made me want to play the bass. I've been playing it on and off for a few years and finally got it to a place where I'm not embarrassed to record it. It's not note for note, I'm no Rocco, but it's pretty tight and has all the parts where they should be.

Recorded in Logic Studio 9 with my Lakland Skyline 44-02 and TC Electronics direct into an MOTU 828MKII


The Backing Track is from a Lesson Book called "Sittin In With Rocco Prestia"  it has minus bass versions of some of Tower Of Power's songs and some other tracks to practice to.

His rendition pays tribute to the original yet is also all his own. I'm honored to work with someone with so much talent.

04 Just A Touch Of Love - Breakdown and Fade

Recorded today in my home studio. Roger KILLED this vocal, cut the leads and background in like an hour. The guy is a total pro, ready to go and great sounding.

Backing track was created on my new Korg Kronos, bass track is a Lakland Bob Glaub P bass, Dunlop Nickel strings, into a Mesa M6 Carbine powering a Bergantino AE410. The cabinet is Mic'd with an Electro Voice RE20. The only effects on it in the DAW are The Abbey Road Compressor and EQ from waves.

Recorded last week, mixed yesterday and today. First song I used the Kronos on. All Vocals by Roger Vaughn. Everything else, Jon Kramer.

After The Love Has Gone - Cover - Final

Roger Vaughn On Vocals, Tracks preoduced and mixed by Jon Kramer. 

All tracks except bass and drums are coming from a Korg Kronos. The drums are Steven Slate Drums triggered by a Roland TD4 kit. The bass is a Lakland Jo Osborn 4 String Jazz into an MXR Bass Octave, EHX Bass Micro Synth, and a 3 Leave Audio Groove Regulator Envalope Filter. I Then Massaged and softened the  bass more using various plugins in logic.

The last cover I worked on before RA diagnosis ....  needs vocals ....  all instruments except Bass are virtual. I physically played the drum and bass parts, the rest are all provided by virtual instruments and synths internal and external.
