J-Lektro is the electronic music alias of @Jamian, a Chicago-based DJ, producer, and audio engineer with a rich musical heritage. Born in 1994 on the South Side of Chicago, J-Lektro is the grandson of Willie Mabon, the first artist to have a hit record on the legendary Chess Records, a legendary Chicago label that worked with iconic blues artists like Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and Koko Taylor, as well as early rock and roll pioneers such as Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, and the influential Etta James.

Growing up in a family with such a strong connection to Chicago's musical history has deeply influenced J-Lektro's artistic vision and fueled his passion for creating innovative, genre-bending tracks that pay homage to the city's rich musical legacy.

J-Lektro's musical journey began at the age of 12 when he first started experimenting with music production software like Ableton Live, Pro Tools, and Reason.
