First off, thank you to everyone who tuned into Soulection Radio live yesterday. We had so many listeners that Kbeach's servers went down. Sorry about that! We are working on it. For this week's special guest if you want to talk about pioneers in the game Mr. Choc is one of them. One of our favorite DJ's who's talent and accomplishments are not to be overlooked. Representing the world famous Beat Junkies crew and Skam Artists, the crew was blessed to have this man come by Kbeach and hit us with a set and great interview session. The thing we admire the most about Choc is that he has his ears close to the new generation of music and understands the culture. He threw down a really diverse set and kept us on our toes. Joe Kay was on his soulful chop vibe and has really been digging back into the classic neo-soul/boombap sound. Make sure you really pay attention to the interview at the end. I grew up in a loving but strict and traditional Chinese family. I was raised in my first few years , and maintained a very close relationship to my grandfather, who was a doctor, a great husband and father, and grandparent to me. Somewhat overachieving, he always understood my ways, and I felt me and him had a connection that sometimes even surpassed the understanding between parent and child. 

We grew apart after he had learnt I had sacrificed all I had worked for, for music, and sadly, before I could show him the fruits of my labour, he passed. 

Today , I toured with Vice, in my hometown of Guiyang, and people here loved my music. April the 4th marked the day of the festival of the dead, and I felt my grandpa's presence during my performance. 

This song is for him, and also for everyone that believed in my journey. 

I am forever grateful.
