this is story i did for KALX news as party of the audio journalism decal, which aired during the friday evening news broadcast. while participating in the poverty simulation exercise held at the cupertino senior center, i reflected on questions such as the role of charities and non-profits under a welfare state, and whether exercises like this hurt or help the populations they’re trying to protect
