This compo is in Db, 4/4.  Somehow the creative process resulted in a bit of a Merengue vibe.  Merengue is a dance music (not food) that originated in Dominican Republic.  Harmonies are voiced primarily in Diatonic 4ths with 3rds and a few 10ths.  Piano line spins melodies from the Sax Harmonies.  Instruments are Saxes, Trombones, Trumpets, Tuba, Piano, Synth.  Bass line, added to later sections, is more of a Samba rhythm since that keeps the momentum.  As always please feel free to send me your thoughts!

Kind of a not-very-remix of a track I heard on a Netflix documentary about the history of the Roland 808.  The original is cheesy as fuck, but there's something about the main chorus that I just had to sample.  So here it is...

Cars That Go Boom

As so often the case, I conducted a jam session in which I used a vast amount of sounds, settings and samples and recorded the stereo in Audacity, which I used in posts-production to extract the best parts from that jam session in order to create this track. As always, I only used basic audio editing techniques like simple crossfades. Only a touch of soft limiting and a high-pass filter were applied, no elaborate approaches like mastering were used whatsoever. Thus, the result is raw and highly dynamic in nature, so put your favourite headphones on and turn up that volume knob, because the Loudness War is for losers!
