I lit a thin green candle, to make you jealous of me. 
But the room just filled up with mosquitos, 
they heard that my body was free. 
Then I took the dust of a long sleepless night 
and I put it in your little shoe. 
And then I confess that I tortured the dress 
that you wore for the world to look through. 

I showed my heart to the doctor: he said I just have to quit. 
Then he wrote himself a prescription, 
and your name was mentioned in it! 
Then he locked himself in a library shelf 
with the details of our honeymoon, 
and I hear from the nurse that he's gotten much worse 
and his practice is all in a ruin. 

I heard of a saint who had loved you, 
so I studied all night in his school. 
He taught that the duty of lovers 
is to tarnish the golden rule. 
And just when I was sure that his teachings were pure 
he drowned himself in the pool. 
His body is gone but back here on the lawn 
his spirit continues to drool. 

An Eskimo showed me a movie 
he'd recently taken of you: 
the poor man could hardly stop shivering, 
his lips and his fingers were blue. 
I suppose that he froze when the wind took your clothes 
and I guess he just never got warm. 
But you stand there so nice, in your blizzard of ice, 
oh please let join in your storm.

I wander through my memories, my senses so sincere
Summer left me reeling, I knew but yet I feared
The dancing of the dawn left me so serene

Reflections off the windows, our sweat against the seats
The burning of the asphalt kept us on our feet
Silver summer mist, the scent that smelled so sweet

Time, oh why must you fly?
Sun, oh why must you rise?
For with you comes the rising and setting of the day
And the seeming endless summer slowly fades away

I see these new beginnings, anticipation sits
There comes this sudden closure, why must it come so swift?

Endless summer, please don't go
Let me drown in your abounding summer throws
Winter winds may follow, yet my mind's forever swallowed

Sometimes I wish that I could freeze the world
No age obstructing, no time to pass
Yet with my age it seems this noose is choking me
As my imagination sprawls out into space

Why so young desire just to find a place in life? 
Why right now desire to find a love surpassing time? 
Why with so much time want for it just to hurry up? 
So I can lose these expectations to just enjoy my prime

It seems that I desire the thing they call the trap
And yet I can't erase the bigger picture
The world so overwhelming, our time that ends so short
Yet I think in a bubble that leaves me in cage

The dream I had, it showed not a love affair,
But destiny for something more with such a greater cost. 
The premise shown was limiting, but in my heart I felt so free 
To see her right in front of me wanting such a dream. 

Yet barely scratching twenty years, 
I still can't scratch the surface 
Of what I am and what I want and what just is my purpose. 

I look and listen, pray and sing, searching for the answer
While time flies by in spite, in vain, distracts me from the footprints
The world cries criticism of a life contrived and small 
Yet in my eyes the thing they slander brings me peace of mind.

A one track mind's a rotten thing to taste, 
The hurdles bruising beating for the will. 
Blinders flexing, steering, squealing, 
Yet never does it ever crash and burn. 
The smell that reeks of skidding leaves a taste inside my mouth 
While I stop to smell the roses in an over trodden path.

Idols locked in barriers of walls too high to climb. 
Goals so far the distance builds with every single stride. 
My God so high above the sky I dare not touch the ground  
Or else I sink in quicksand to the depths of empty pride.

A pedestal that looms and shadows every step. 
She sits in a chair, yet in my mind I see a throne of gold. 
And while she sees me in a crowd, I see only her 
As my heart sinks as she gazes on the others just as fond. 

A one track mind leaves nothing left to grasp 
But the hope that there's a finish line to cross. 
Until then I wander blind and fall into the depths
Searching for what may lie just between my eyes.

Moonlight on the backs of trees that gaze beyond veil.
Such a small world, such a frame of mind,
What a choice to live here now

Time expanding on to places I could never see. 
Time falls right behind the person I could never be. 
Willing stepping forward into darkness with the light 
Of the seeming glow of faith that leads me through the endless night

Every breath so shallow, every breath so still,
Introverted extrovert inside a giant shell. 
Expectations strung across my shoulders, bearing like a stone 
Upon the back of Atlas as he upholds the world. 

Reflection in the water show me what I know is real 
For what I vision in my mind I know I cannot feel

Little Birdie (Don't Care)

Basically, I've been into music for as long as I can remember. I've been singing for my entire life, played piano since I was 9 years old, and been playing guitar since I was 15. I love all kinds of music, and love to play all different kinds of music too. I write original songs, as well as do an occasional cover. I plan to be involved in music for the rest of my life, and to hopefully one day make it into the music business.
