The title track, ‘Cold Comfort,’ maintains the emotional edge and brings the listener into a new depth, both icy and sanguine, while ‘The Way You Like’ is a well built, purple bass inspired banger, suited for nightclubs worldwide. ‘Waterways’ brings it back to Gladkill’s roots and what made him the west coast bass aficionado in the first place, with gorgeous soundscapes in the intro and proper, danceable bass stabs at the drop, and ‘Fragile’ rounds us out with a perfect, vibey set finisher which completes the message for the EP, hitting the balance between attentive poignancy, and energetic brawn.
